Slowly reading through the thread amd so far up to page 78. Thought I'd share this Shaguar inspired MGBGT with you all. Never had a proper restoration, just more filler added and then put back on the road. Then the owner did this awful hand painting job to it. Now it's sitting there slowly dying. Last time I went past there was a Reliant Kitten van in the garden too which looked to be in a bad way.

The same people run a local ATC squadron and have a DeHavilland Vampire as a gate guard which is in dire need of some TLC, but instead it is slowly rotting away. They had the front end of a Phantom too, but the owner took it back after being horrified by the state it had been allowed to get into. Streetview won't pick it up so here's the overview and I'll try and get a proper shot next time I'm over that way.

Sorry about the size. Click to make bigger.

I wonder how many 'high spec' cars are left scattered around the world after their owners have been involved in some sort of an catastrophic event or act of mass terrorism like 9/11. I can understand car's being 'forgotten about' in a garage or back garden, but always find it a bit odd when something like that is left to rot on a public road or car park.

I used to fly out from Heathrow every now and again and remember a 328 rotting in one of the car parks near the Concord hanger - often wondered what happened to the owner. The car park was eventually built on, so I assume someone helped themselves to the Fezza.

The manual for it was found in a cave at Khirbet Qumran near the Dead Sea.

Just interested. The place and manner of parking looked familiar. Nothing sinister.

I've never understood this sort of sensitivity. The car is on a public road (pavement too but that's a different point) in, probably, London. 1000s of people know it's there. Most don't care. The ones that do have had the wing mirrors already.

It really doesn't matter if we know exactly where it is or not.

My thoughts too.
