This scarce 24 Valve GSI Carlton needs saving pronto. it's a desirable Manual as well. I had 2 of these a 12 Valve manual and then a 24 Valve auto, great cars.
This one would make a great Lotus Carlton replica.
Personally I'd prefer that to be kept relatively original (saved though, of course) rather than made into something it's not.
How did they get that through the gate?

Does anyone here know why so many seem to let cars rot away? Because it's plain and obvious that most of the car pictured here will never run again. What is their problem?

Is that out the back of the supermarket in Strood, alongside Gun Lane?

I wonder of the many wrecks posted her, if any of them suddenly disappeared, wether any proof of ownership exists. I know of people who lost their original old log book, and never had any paperwork relating to ownership. If the reg no and chassis number doesn't register on the DVLA website, then possesion is all I guess.

Thought so. That used to be an arfur-style cheapie used car lot back in the day, and you used to be able to drive out of the supermarket along that lane where the gate is now. Looks bigger than I remember! I'm surprised nobody has snapped/posted those from the train.

Slightly off topic, but also located in Strood is this Soviet era 'Black widow' submarine... It has been sitting in the River Medway for years.

Not sure what the story is with it but it has been there for as long as I can remember. Quite an eerie sight when you consider what it was originally built for.

Google images photo.

Ten minutes ago I'd never heard of 'Strood'. If pushed, I might have guessed it a Scottish location. Now it looks like one of the most interesting places in all England.
