That's a Canberra cockpit, much too small for Vulcan.

In the side view the canopy has a port hole like a Vulcan and unlike any Canberra.

Definitely a Vulcan cockpit. You'd be surprised at how small a Vulcan sizes up next to modern stuff, like the A400M and the Omega tanker.

This lot has been left to rot on a farm near where i live.

Behind the scrap Rolls-Royce Avon's is an old Renault Laguna.

Better view of the Renault and there's some old Hunter cockpit under the tarp

A Meteor cockpit

Oh and a lightning in the field

And behind that is a Vulcan cockpit
All normal things you'd find in a field!!

Asked a few people in our village what they knew about them.

It is a Vulcan cockpit it's xh563 once the gate guard at Scampton. Was in good order on a display trailer when it arrived but been sat out in the field deteriorating for years. Didn't get any closer pic's of it partly because it was a private field but mostly because the bull looked in a bad mood.

The Meteor is WM145
The Hunter is WZ557

From what i'm told the Meteor and Hunter found there way there from a collection on another farm a few miles away after the owner was imprisoned for 5 years. The police raided his cottage when it was reported he had trouble keeping his trousers up in a neighbors garden and found some of the weapons in his collection had magically became active again.

News report i found about it
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/9412750.Fana...

The Lightning is XR718 apparently been there a decade or so. Arrived with the wings cut off which is not a surprise as the farm is a mile or so down a very narrow single track lane. Again been sat out in the field deteriorating since.

As to what there doing there nobody seems to know for sure.

There is some info on that Lightning on FB in one of the Lightning appreciation groups. IIRC it's been there since 2005 & the owner has all the missing bits & plans to open a museum eventually.

People store the oddest things on Frams (farmers love a bit of cash in hand ) then the storee dies/dissapears/forgets/go broke/change hobby ect etc
That aside lots of farmers collect scrap for the hell of it, i know plenty of farms with 70 odd years of thier old cars in the fields and barns and quite a few with military equipment, back in the day a lot of military surpluss was sold at farm auctions/by farm auctioneers and from what i can tell if you just bought a nice big trailer at an auction and there was a plane going for £30 you bought it just cos you had space on the trailer and you knew it's worth more in scrap smile
One farm i cleared some cars from had a tank in the drive, his dad bought it for 15p 50 years earlyer just cos the auction wanted it gone and he had bought an empty lowloader to use on the farm laugh

The amount of times i went to a farm auction to buy vehicals and ended up with 30 odd ammo boxes on the recovery truck is untrue biggrin

According to http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/vulcan/sur...

[XH563] Retired in 1982, she became a maintenance airframe at Scampton but her stay was a short one and she was scrapped in 1986. Donald Milne and of Banchory bought the nose section as a tree house for his 6 year old son! In 2003 Vulcan fanatic Paul Hartley bought her. She was stored at Bruntingthorpe for some years but was put up for sale again in 2006 and has since moved on to a new owner in Yorkshire. The interior was mainly complete and though the exterior didn't look great it was basically sound with just one tear in the skin. It also comes complete with nose wheel strut and wheels! - See more at: http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/vulcan/sur...

It was not the gate guardian at Scampton but Just Jane NX611 was:

At one stage the aircraft was kept at Blackpool, and following the removal of R5868, served as gate guardian at RAF Scampton. NX611 now resides at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at the former RAF East Kirkby(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_Avro_Lancasters)

Hope that clarifies

Have to admit that I wasn't sure. Guess it could potentially be a pair of them in that case...

Looks like two RSTs to me, both have the plastic arch lip which XR3is didn't have (from memory). Mind you most XR3is did have them about 10mins after Barry got hold of them.

A TK, once the mainstay of very many fleets. Always a bit disconcerting to see the road flashing past via the gaps around the pedals which created quite a draught too!

There seem to be classics left to die everywhere in Turkey... Although I went back to get a picture of one that looked beyond saving and it had moved, so you never know!

A collection of 7, all showing on Google Satelite in exactly the same positions. Corrado's might look in the photo as though they're in use but they're covered in green growth so obviously haven't been washed/used for some years.
