The yellow one certainly appears to be the mythical Climax engined Elite.............with no rear bumper. WOW !
I've just studied images of Elites, and I think the way the rear quarter / valence from the bottom of the wheel arch slopes up to the rear panel, and the way the roof curves up from the top of the windscreen, isn't right for an Elite.

I don't have any better suggestions at the moment though!

My other guess for the yellow one was a Mk1 Escort with the bumper off.

paperbag

If you look long enough there's a lip round the wheel arch. The swage line has to be lost but that might be the lighting.

I have to say my first thought for the yellow one was Mark 1 Escort.

I was thinking the same but the rear scuttle looks to wide to me for an Escort.

The yellow one is definitely not an Escort, i thought that the front was in the other pictures, trouble is that I was lost when I found them, so may not get a chance to look again frown

The reflection in the kitchen window confirms it is not an Escort so I'm sticking with Elite for now.

May be an Elite replica kit, they do seem quite keen on kit cars!

Bit different to the last Merc I posted.
Owner also has a Volvo P1800 ES abandoned on their driveway, but hidden behind some more modern and equally knackered eurobox or other!

This would be much more visible if a Sprinter wasn't wedged against it.

On a busy London street.

Saw this old Jag in a backlane out of town, near Hyeres, south of France. Would have liked to have got a closer look but it was absolutely chucking it down with rain. From what I could see, it didn't look in good shape at all.

Geek Corner: the pattern on Daimler radiator grilles is a nod towards the early cars having cooling fins on their exposed radiators like the fins on motorcycle engines.

Not quite abandoned, but out of sight, out of mind.

I've been offered them both, but i'm scared they'll need too much work and think they are a bit too expensive..
