This was looking a little worse for wear with a funky red interior [quote]
Can't figure out whether that's a conversion for some Arab Sheik or similar, hence the weird boot aerial, red interior & the wheels - or a bitza cobbled together by a man in a shed?
I'm trying to place the wheels. Something like Zender or Tresor wheels from a tarted Audi of similar age? Can't figure out whether that's a conversion for some Arab Sheik or similar, hence the weird boot aerial, red interior & the wheels - or a bitza cobbled together by a man in a shed?

Got a real soft spot for the E23, especially if it's a 735i (M30) or South African 745i (M88/1)... horrible cosmetic scheme though.
It says 728i on the boot so I'm going with pimp mobile in spectacularly bad taste for someone who thought he was a big hitter. The NI plate is a good sign too...MarkwG]T6 Jonsey said:

You could well be on to something there. My line of work means I visit some very well to do clients with lots of cool cars. This chap was from the Far East and had a huge plot of land with high end mercs, rollers and bmw's from the 80's and 90's just parked up in the open rotting away amoung his current fleet, just look at the reg numbers on the cars, gotta be worth a bit. His current roller had the plate R9 LLSCan't figure out whether that's a conversion for some Arab Sheik or similar, hence the weird boot aerial, red interior & the wheels - or a bitza cobbled together by a man in a shed?

Don't mention the infinitely better looking 159 then...!
I prefer the 156, to be honest, and the '6 was a far better car - better chassis and the V6 was still Giuseppe Busso's, not a 12-valve iron-block bought from Holden!Brera - a triumph of style over substance, alas (although the kerb weight suggested it wasn't lacking substance in the literal sense!).
