This was looking a little worse for wear with a funky red interior [quote]
Can't figure out whether that's a conversion for some Arab Sheik or similar, hence the weird boot aerial, red interior & the wheels - or a bitza cobbled together by a man in a shed?
The weird antenna looks like the base of an aircraft VHF Rod antenna. Can't figure out whether that's a conversion for some Arab Sheik or similar, hence the weird boot aerial, red interior & the wheels - or a bitza cobbled together by a man in a shed?

Spotted this last week. My old man had a white Maestro turbo brand new back in the day.
The pictures do it too much justice in all honesty. Lots of rot & moss.
I'd love to save it, was tempted to knock on the door as it clearly hasn't moved for months but I don't really have the space for any more cars!

Don't see to many Maestro's these days. Earlier this week had the need to drive through the village of Banwell, when waiting in traffic I see not one, but three of the Austin Rover Group's finest! This link shows two...they've now been joined by a red one.https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.327464,-2.863428...

the engine might've let go
Strong probability I imagine, and I guess there are so many in a similar state that it's hard to give them away?[1] Parkers only allows you to go back to 2006 for prices where a running RX-8 would only be worth £1500 at best and that's an early car from 2004.... If it's not running it's only going to be worth scrap value.
