Classics left to die/rotting pics
Discussion
Cars are products of their time. As technology changed so did their handling, performance and styling.
The engineering ability and technology grew to enable increased precision. The greatest steps were in the first 40 years. Then WW2 intervened and the following years were one's of austerity when everything was built down to a cost. Unfortunately this became entrenched in management thinking and when mixed with militant unions and sloppy 'quality' control, you get the late 1960's, 1970's and early 1980's.
I suspect that someone who slags off 'classic cars' from this period either doesn't get classic cars or wasn't around then. Most had their failings, though some more than most. It was not just the UK.
Lancia are a case in point. Their rust control was so bad it killed the Marque in the UK.
There is little point in posting on a classic forum if you are not interested in older cars!

Whilst having a quick look through the classic cars section on ebay, I stumbled upon what appears be a very rare Owen Sedanca (pictured in the background) languishing in the open air.

I think they only made a few.
After a bit of research, this is apparently the pre production prototype, one of only three made.
It'd be interesting to know more about it

To me, that is a classic. OK its a Speke example, but its early, original, FHC. You'll never recover what you spend on it, but is restoring yourself an option?
If not then contact the TR7 club. Im sure they would be delighted to rescue an original, 1 owner car. I know I would.
Is it a Speke car? It's been a long time, but I thought the Scouse ones had the plain black trim and not seats that resembled Rod Stewarts Trousers. If not then contact the TR7 club. Im sure they would be delighted to rescue an original, 1 owner car. I know I would.

Apologies, I understand this is a regular on here. Apologies also to the neighbours and passing traffic as I undertook numerous manoeuvres in a long wheelbase Transit to get back to photograph it. It's a wonder I wasn't on the local traffic news.
"That's Dicky doing his PIB."
"What's that?"
"His Pitifully Inadequate Best."
Indeed. Passed it many a time en route to visiting parents-in-law. https://goo.gl/maps/8jMmwLUAFvk
This old P6 is nearby too, never seems to move but looks surprisingly tidy: https://goo.gl/maps/cY7hva8vpWS2
205 round the corner, again, never seems to move, but looks surprisingly tidy: https://goo.gl/maps/fKj4BRQE9TG2
