Is there a faint chance it might be a Wood & Pickett? That might explain why person or persons unknown are keen to preserve it.

IIRC George Harrison's W&P Mini had a hatchback.

I don't think that is a W&P. They did a few hatchback conversions for people, there was one on ebay recently but it wasn't left to die or rotting!

Dicky, is that the row of units just over the bridge on the left as you come in from the traffic lights?.

I know one of the guys who has a garage in one of them, and I used to work with the owner of the mini ( or at least one which was the same colour and had the same roof design). There was a GT Four Celica there a while ago, which went for scrap.

If I get a chance I'll pass by myself tomorrow and try to get a snap.

Poor things.

Probably bought for £5k each, slapped on some Dulux white, not been properly maintained for years and hey presto, you have a wedding car hire business.

Drive them into the ground for a couple of years. They break down, repairs are too expensive, so park them in the drive whilst they appreciate rolleyes

Some passing chancer's offer of £5k for the pair will be met by "nah, thems classics mate, worth £20k at least for each".

Five years time, still there, deluded owner thinks he should be able to retire on the eventual proceeds whilst they deteriorate into scrap.

I'm jesting of course, but not too far from the truth methinks.
Hope the marriages lasted a bit longer...

Precisely so, tex. I had to deliver a pick up and thought I had bags of time as the address I had was "Felixstowe Docks" which, I guessed, would have been a 24 hour a day operation. When Google Maps got me there I found I was at the row of units you describe, half a mile from the sea and docks and everyone had gone home for the night. The following morning - when I eventually delivered the 200,000 mile bound for Kenya pick up truck - I was already behind schedule and only stopped for a pic or two. I should have spent just a wee bit longer.

I read about that in the Daily Fail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2490033/Wh...

House once owned by a doctor who moved out leaving everything as it was, Marie Celeste syle. The Fail says that its a '64 Super Snipe Series series IV.

My fault. They turned up in a different thread and I asked for them to be posted here.

These might not be totally left to die as they are in a car park used by restorers, but they certainly need a bit of work! eek

I think the blue one is a jag coupe, looks uncannily like a Keeble without the glass/chrome but GRP doesn't rust. Agree on the Fiat Dino Coupe
