This was taken over 12 months ago - but was a 'classic left to die' no less. The 924 did find a owner in the end I am told.

Judging by the beddding inside that Renault it's still providing a service to someone!
I wonder what band of Council tax it attracts?
Maybe some MP claims a second mortgage allowance for it!

Anyone else remember the Mk2 Cortina on the Great West Road nr Hammersmith , in someones front garden (just) the back end used to overhang the pavement slightly , it was there for 20-30 years getting rustier and rustier and eventually bits started to fall off it , I think the owner must have been forced to do something about it in the end. Every time I see this film it jog's my memory as it was the same colour , also how unusual to see a car like this in an American film

No Sorn is only if you taxed your car after 2000ish I believe if it has not been taxed before the date sorn came in, it does not have to be sorned as not on there system. If that makes sense.

NOt sure that's right. My Griff is an 03/99 and gets SORNed, I read that as meaning it is taxed to March 2011.

Not sure if this one fits the bill, but it certainly is pretty comprehensively knackered! Belongs to a chap (possibly a ph'er? You on here John?) in Dewsbury who saves old Scimitars from the great scrappers in the sky. Quite admirable really, lucky he has a VERY patient wife. IIRC he has three Coupes, three GTE's and a couple of GTC's,

I look at at it and see it in my garage (which has already overflowed with projects), on a lift (which I don't yet own) being meticulously rebuilt (using spare time and money I don't have). There ought to be a helpline or support group for people like me, it is an illness of some sort.

I know its rather low brow BG, but if you see it again, could you pop a note under the windscreen I saw it being driven near Harrods in the summer, so it can't have been parked up for too long. I also remember seeing it at Broughtons of Cheltenham about 25 years ago!

Haven't got a photo of it, but there's a Lancia Montecarlo in Parrs Wood, South Manchester, that's been sitting on someone's drive in the rain and snow, on flat tyres, for about two years not. I bet the rust bugs have their napkins tucked in and their knives and forks out by now, but it looks save-able. Wonder how much longer the owner's going to keep it sitting there blocking the drive for though - his daily-driver E-class Merc is parked on the street outside on a pretty busy road, would've thought he'd want to do something with it.

No pictures unfortunately but it looked in a fairly advanced stage of decay but savable. Knocked at the front door and an elderly fellow advised that it was his Sons car and no way would the Son be selling, adding the bloody things a nuisance stuck there! Probably still roting away 15 years later, waste. That never makes sense to me; the owner has effectively abandoned it on his parents' property, and it's value is far outweighed by even a nominal accumulated storage fee. Plus possession is 9-10ths and all that? Probably worth waving readies under his nose; he might bite. Balmoral Green said: Not too sure it's been left to die/rot, but spotted this in a car park in the City last week, it didn't look like it had moved in a long time. This, or something similar must be mine! Especially in sheddy condition like that.
