The Holden is a HR model. The came out with either a 161 or 186 cu inch 6 cylinder engine. Standard had a 3 speed column shift gearbox. Disc brakes were an option. The X2 model came with twin down draft carbies, disc brakes and a 4 speed gearbox as a standard fit out. All had 13" steel rims. The top of the line Premier had the 186, auto transmission, disc brakes and a full leather interior.

Some pics of my mums old Wolseley - at my dads garage in Hackney
The garage is a lot more dark and dingier than this. I had it on a long exposure setting.
Anyone see the bloke getting hanged in Luther ??
Was that where they filmed it or something? What are those massive tyres off? I thought a tractor but a) not in Hackney and b) they don't have any tread! They look too big to be off a lorry but might beThe garage is a lot more dark and dingier than this. I had it on a long exposure setting.

Golf GTi left rotting in our car park, apparently the owner has died and the council don't know what to do about it. It's been parked up for quite a while now and the inside is covered in mould, could be easy to get it roadworthy but I suspect the admin would be a nightmare so it'll no doubt sit there for years. Either that or one of the friendly youths will set it on fire.
If it's a 16v someone would almost certainly have it for the engine and gearbox. People are always after random parts that are difficult to get hold of as well.
I broke one a couple of years ago and got around £550 for the bits even before I weighed the shell in.

The tyres are from old coaches (it's a coach yard) - the yard is so characteristic that they hire it out for film shoots / adverts. My mums old car has been there for 30+years - he reckons he's gonna 'do it up' one day, ha ha

I saw bits of dusty old car lurking in some photos of the coach yard, and wondered what they were.
It will be a crime if they demolish that place.

I am pretty sure that the valance and exhaust are still in place. The exhaust exits in a twin tailpipe under the o/s corner, and you can see the outline of it under the tarpaulin.
But it doesn't matter, really. If it has been standing outside for five years then the interior will be covered in mould and rotting.
There will be all sorts of mechanical damage caused by frost and I expect that rodents will have moved in to the bonnet and boot area and be munching their way through the wiring loom.
It's rather a shame, as I am almost certain that the colour is Mediterranean Blue. Along with the 1987 registration, that means the car is one of the rare High Compression Giugiaro Turbos.
They only made 136 HC Turbos. They were only during the final year of Giugiaro Esprit production in 1987 and Mediterranean Blue was a particularly desirable colour.
But not as desirable as a white one, obviously....
Edited to add....
Just checked the DVLA website. The car was registered on 30.09.1987, which means that it is probably one of the very last of the HC Turbos.
To put it into context, my HC Turbo was registered on 01.08.1987 and mine was the 5th from the last domestic market Giugiaro Turbo built....
I would be interested to know what the chassis number of that blue car is.
It really is a shame to see such a desirable Esprit abandoned to the elements.

i confess it is one of mine, a Glenfrolme Special XJS 3.6 with manual gearbox allegedly built for Harrods hence the greenish colour, about eight inches added to wheel base so a genuine four seater xjs, very low mileage etc and am attempting to resurrect the thing, roof line is awful and that panel will need renewing and rust elsewhere, seems the only survivour and not that handsome either.
big task but not given up (yet)

We did the rear quarter glasses for those when they were built along with all of the Range Rover conversions that they produced. I remember a two door E38 7 Series as well that went to Brunei. Longer front doors and a bespoke rear quarter glass.
Can you clarify if:The unattractive roof line an unavoidable solution re the rear window and headroom, it seems it could have been a better design. That does spoil the car as the space and interior is very practical.
Also, the silver version had retained the buttresses as per original shell but this one had them both removed.
i will make every effort to sort it out in the future.
