I've driven both and they are worlds apart. Epic all the same!

Perhaps - and perhaps not - my only point but was that they were competing models for the period.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
AMG, lovely Lancia, is that Goodwood before renovation?
Certainly a world away from an AMG Merc!

Yes, well spotted, Goodwood biggrin The Woodcote corner banking (now moved back), behind me in shot, had a large hole in it for many years. This was made by my embedding my Peugeout 104ZS rally edition up to its windscreen after a failure-to-go-around-the-corner mishap. I still drove it home to London with half a radiator, making numerous stops! The things we used to do yikes

Yes, well spotted, Goodwood The Woodcote corner banking.

And a like backdrop (in the late 1980s).

But a much less sporty shot.

Of the 1976 car I bought in early 1977.
And still own.

Is that the sliding pillar front suspension of a Morgan Trike peeking into shot on the right? Would love to see / hear more about it. biggrin

Dad's had the red one since he was 15 (1962) and the middle one since 1973.

4th gen Corvette's rock.. 60 in 5, 32mpg, 345torks. Easy peasy to maintain. Its also my daily and holiday transport.. Handles and brakes just fine with some air in the tyres (added more +ve caster and -ve camber).

I got the hula shirt and medallion too!

That looks like a monster helping of fun. Why haven't I bought one yet?
We live in South Ayrshire, while my wife's family live in Bognor so we get to enjoy some long runs and visits to Goodwood now and again. I've had my C4 for 12 years now.. Its a keeper..

At a recent car show, some Spitfire/Herald/GT6 owners gathered around when the I had the clamshell bonnet lifted. My favourite comment was, "..that's just a lardy Spitfire, mate!!" rofl

Lovely. I bet there are tiny numbers of those left from the gazillions made.

That looks mint!

And I love the period 1980's accessory rear screen louvres! biggrin

The dad of a mate at school in the late 1980's had a silver 2.0 S, and drove it like a loony, I'd wager it no longer exists.

I had one of those in Signal Yellow in 1880. I fitted genuine RS flexi splitter and spoiler, available at great cost from your RS dealer.
The louvred rear screen thing - never saw one of those fitted back then. That trend had been and gone tbh.
