Wow, that really brings back memories. I had one of the eight original Mk2 press launch cars as a company car once its press duties were done. It was Mars Red and on an 'A' plate with plain bumpers and a single exhaust, as you have mentioned. I'd forgotten how bright the interior stripey bits were.

What a great find...well done. I'm sure you will love it!
It might have been this one! cool

No it was A708 XNH!! It was a great car!

Sold everything else and after an impromptu trip to Duncan Hamilton's this has arrived.

Gorgeous. Those Hawk's are really something. Which model is it from their range?

Got any more pics? Underbonnet?

Thanks, it's the Hawk 289 FIA. I can't take credit for building it but the chaps certainly knew what they were doing. It goes very well although fuel surge in the carb at Goodwood last weekend may prompt the purchase of some Webers. Time for me to start saving...

My Safari at the most depressing part of a resto. The one you look at and thing and think it will never become a car again.

A lot of new metal has already been added, but still loads more to be changed, icluding floors, front to back.

At least the drivetrain looks good.

Looks in good condition, lucky chap. Wish I'd never let mine go. Do you get much use out of it?

I am very priviledged to have these two in the garage. I am merely a caretaker in the grand scheme as these are proper heirlooms having been bought new by my grandfather.

It is lovely and I somehow think the Volante sports the Kamm tail somewhat more comfortably than the saloon. biggrin
