To me that engine suits the era of the car so the new one is not my cup of tea but each to their own.

Of course, that's the engine it was born with, I see your view but for me my car is for driving, I'm not too worried about the engine not looking period correct. With the original L series it always felt like the chassis was very underpowered, with the RB that's no longer a problem yet it still retains an inline 6 engine and sound.

Quite simply its better to drive how I have it now and that's what matters to me.

I bet that's a riot! I see RichB's point but I can't help thinking that that looks like bags of fun. Good job!

Indeed it does and it looks like a very professional job too. Being a bit of a fan of older cars I suppose my philosophy would be to buy a faster (newer?) model if the one you have is no longer satisfying. But then I know there are a myriad of other reasons not to do this, not least being where would you keep them all! As I said, each to their own and it does look good. smile

Apologies if this has been done somewhere before but I thought it would be good to see what is out there and hopefully get the motivation going to get your classic out in the coming sunny months.

This is my lot (a bit of a mixed bag)

Is that C-type a replica or the full monty?

AFAIK the original Jaguar C-Type doesn't have a passenger door.

Thanks.

To be honest I haven't driven it properly yet, was waiting on some parts to finish it off, its now done and I just have to finish mapping it before using it properly. But I'm back at work (abroad) and anyhow its winter now so I will have it out again in the Spring.

Can't see why it won' be great fun though, during the limited driving I've done so far it has felt great.

Thanks, I went to a lot of effort to make sure everything was done to a high level, including a custom intercooler, radiator and Custom F1 spec wiring harness.

Well, I definitely don't have room to store 3 cars and I'm not a huge fan of modern cars, I prefer the feel and connection of old cars, which this still has, albeit with a more powerful/modern feeling engine, it doesn't detract anything from the experience.

I really wanted a rare oldschool styled car with the type of feel an connection you can only get from something older but with enough performance to embarrass most supercars. For me this has been achieved and this car gets more attention than a Ferrari, can't stop anywhere without several people coming and asking about it.

If I was loaded I'd also have a second Z with a tuned 3L L series to go with the hybrid Z.

Thanks, I did the work myself, nothing that hard just lots and lots of planning and prep beforehand.
