I love those XK150 Coupes. I went on a run with A8hex a few months ago and following his one they're certainly head turners. I'm beginning to like the coupes as much as the convertibles. Very nice car.
In my opinion [and yes, I am biased ] - the XK150 fixed head is the best looking, the most practical and yet - the most criminally undervalued of the lot...

Beautiful thing, and I love the colour and interior.

I keep hanging my nose over an XK 120/140/150, but I'm never sure how they drive?

I guess I'm worried if I try one it'll shatter the illusion, but to me the XK fixed head coupes, especially the 120, are just the most beautiful elegant shape.

Please tell me they drive great?
I was worried too, before.... but the XK150, at least. drives superb .... a little heavy for town [as they say] but tremendous on open road or motorway... as I said above:- " In my opinion [and yes, I am biased ] - the XK150 fixed head is the best looking, the most practical and yet - the most criminally undervalued of the lot..."

PS - its nice inside too ...

Agreed ... I'd prefer one over an E-Type any day

No, it was a typo of 120 that I changed within seconds, you must have got in bloody quick!

Me too, never quite got on with the narrow tracked look of the E type.

The XKs are just so much more elegant.

hehe I wondered if you were going to say there was 230 special XK models with different cylinder heads or something. ( actually I suppose they were the XK150S models)

Fully agree. I had three many years ago - a company one - G reg silver 1.9, G222 JUB, followed by my own one, an E reg - graphite grey 1.9 E868GNH, which was replaced by a white 1.9 J106 SAN - the only oneof the three stil on the road.

Loved every single flipping minute of driving these cars ...

Thanks. The car had one owner for 29 years and was always garaged in the dark so it was a lucky find. The owner even logged every single gallon of fuel used and corresponding MPG in a hand-written log. I love the red & orange striped tweed interior which was unique to the 1984 GTi. I have recently fitted the correct single outlet exhaust as the rest of the car is so original I want to keep it that way. It's never had any restoration at all which is pretty remarkable for a 30 year old car with 108K on the clock. It's still on the original clutch!

I never get the whole Golf obsession thing that a lot of folks have, the almost religious fervour for Oak green......

However that is a minter, time warp stuff, and the Pirelli alloys are too cool.
