Cheers Spot-turbo !
Well spotted by your Mrs....its a Mk2 2litre and it was a lady who bought this car from me, who shed more than a few tears as she had owned one as a young girl......Only change I made was the Moto-Lita wheel. The original has pride of place in my sons 'car bits/automobilia' collection....
more pics ?
Certainly.......

I nearly walked away from it the first time I saw it, it was that unloved. Wife was dragging me out the door and the dealer told me to take no notice of the miles as its clearly had a clock change. Evidence suggested otherwise and I handed over the readies much to the delight of the dealer who had taken it in against a little shopping car.
I then had to walk the gauntlet of the other half....yak, yak, yak.....
Overheated a few miles down the road and a rear brake was p1ssing fluid.....wife is now wearing that 'told you so' expression.....
RAC'd back and I contacted the previous elderly owner....who had hardly used it and lived on the Isle of Wight....13k seemed genuine alright.....;)

Thought I'd take the 308 out for a run since it was such a nice day.
Unfortunately despite behind on a conditioner the battery was knackered, so trip to Halfords, new battery installed and time for a run up into the Peak District.
Once up there conditions were not as good as expected!!!
All good fun though.

That's really a nice Car. What I find interesting is how some cars now seem to be even more attractive than when they first came out.
Cars from the mid 70's took some stick for a while but now they seem to have "grown" into their look the XJS for one looks far better today.

There seems to be a bit of hype for the XJS at the moment and I'm just not seeing it.What I find interesting is how some cars now seem to be even more attractive than when they first came out.

Back in the day my dad had 3, a silver one, followed by a yellow one (which with the black coach line we used to call the big banana) then a metallic browm one.
I can distinctly remember the day dad ran out of petrol and asked my mum to take him the blue can from the garage.
Mum and I duly took him the blue can from the garage and he filled it up.
It took ages to start, and sounded a bit ropey, but got home, so he turned off the ignition, got out, and stood there with the keys in hand as the thing just kept on running.
Turns out the blue can was paraffin, had to stop it by pressing dusters over the exhaust pipes to choke it to death!
As any man would do, this was deemed to be all my mums fault for taking the wrong blue can.
