Roll on Spring-time...................

'B' is early for an M635, mine is 166 on a 'C' plate - which number is yours?

Love the Alpina's too - mine will inherit some 17's from my E34 this Spring when the E34 gets the 18's back on it smile

That would be no. 164.

Here's a pic of the car when I owned it on 18" Rondells. I do prefer the Alpinas!

If that car was the one from Bristol quite a few years ago then I had a good look at it before buying 166 instead. - I also though 164 had gone to Australia?

164 was the one from Cleevewood Garage that I bought in Scotland.

IIRC it was 270 that went to Australia. Of the 3 M6s I have owned that was my favourite.
It looked great, went like stink and sounded epic with the Hartge exhaust.
I took it to Le Mans which was a memorable trip!

I totally get the whole Oak Green 16V thing.
Lovely, lusted after this very model in my younger years, that and a 205 1.9 GTi in Miami Blue. Managed the latter but not the former. Maybe one day.

It really is particularly elegant in this colour.

Cheers Spot-turbo !
Well spotted by your Mrs....its a Mk2 2litre and it was a lady who bought this car from me, who shed more than a few tears as she had owned one as a young girl......Only change I made was the Moto-Lita wheel. The original has pride of place in my sons 'car bits/automobilia' collection....
more pics ?
Certainly.......

I like this a lot.

Sure is, had it 6/7 years now, got it from a guy near Gatwick with 160k, now on 198k, I got it for myself, the Mrs then started driving it & then it became her daily, won't be selling anytime soon I'm afraid.
Great to see some old pics of it, it still polish's up well although it had been neglected a bit before we got it.

Thanks. The car had one owner for 29 years and was always garaged in the dark so it was a lucky find. The owner even logged every single gallon of fuel used and corresponding MPG in a hand-written log. I love the red & orange striped tweed interior which was unique to the 1984 GTi. I have recently fitted the correct single outlet exhaust as the rest of the car is so original I want to keep it that way. It's never had any restoration at all which is pretty remarkable for a 30 year old car with 108K on the clock. It's still on the original clutch!

A few more recent pics:

I love that ! thumbup

There seems to be a bit of hype for the XJS at the moment and I'm just not seeing it.

Back in the day my dad had 3, a silver one, followed by a yellow one (which with the black coach line we used to call the big banana) then a metallic browm one.

I can distinctly remember the day dad ran out of petrol and asked my mum to take him the blue can from the garage.
Mum and I duly took him the blue can from the garage and he filled it up.
It took ages to start, and sounded a bit ropey, but got home, so he turned off the ignition, got out, and stood there with the keys in hand as the thing just kept on running.

Turns out the blue can was paraffin, had to stop it by pressing dusters over the exhaust pipes to choke it to death!

As any man would do, this was deemed to be all my mums fault for taking the wrong blue can. biggrin

hehe

Shame.
Could really use that car right now.....
Neglected you say?
What was wrong ?
When it left me it was a detailed peach !
