That's so gross that I almost like it!
Seriously though, being a youngster growing up in the days of E-Types and DB5s I never understood American cars. How on Earth do you park one of those when you go out for a drive?
It's clearly in immaculate condition but a 2 door car that's 20 feet long leaves me confused!
How do I park it? Carefully, lol. Not that it gets parked in public places a lot these days. Seriously though, being a youngster growing up in the days of E-Types and DB5s I never understood American cars. How on Earth do you park one of those when you go out for a drive?

And it's only 18 feet long, not twenty, like that makes a difference. And two doors are cool although I understand why you're confused but they did make a lot of four doors as well!

This is my 1959 Anglia which is possibly the earliest roadworthy example in the UK. It has not been restored and is still wearing its factory paint. I'm the third owner, the first kept it for 30 years. Mileage is just over 32k.

My Dad's first car wan Anglia in that shade of yellow. Is that a Delux, looks like two tone paint with a white roof? What is the colour, I remember I went to Andrews the Ford dealer in Ealing Broadway to buy him a tin of touch up paint - no Halfords touch up sticks back then.
Yes it is a Deluxe, the basic Anglia had a painted grille and no side trim. It is yellow and white, colour names are Sunburst Yellow and Cirrus White. Not my best photo sadly but I took it with no thought today while I was turning it around on my drive. I also remember the tins of touch up paint, my dad had one for his 100E Anglia which was also yellow albeit the rather wonderfully named Ming Yellow. It wasn't his first car but was his first 'modern' car, bought in 1961 after he had got fed up with a succession of unreliable pre-war Morris's. ToneyCaroney said:

Would love to see more pics of her.
I'm spotting a theme with my current classic collection...
The IIA is a 200TDi I've had since I was 21, The Rangie is a 300TDi I've had since Wednesday and the Disco is a 200TDi that my mate owns but we thought it made a nice group shot.
Also tucked in the corner is my 'motor'home (more of a static caravan atm ) a '75 Transit

This is my 1959 Chevy Impala that I've owned since 1989. I'm missing it at the moment as a friend is kindly storing it until the garage at my new home is extended to accommodate its rather long length. I am missing my V8 fix and rowing through the four speed! I also have a 1959 Anglia 105E which is possibly the earliest one still on the road and is unrestored. Now I need to find a photo!

And I'm not a massive American fan.

Bought new sept 85. Used for 3 years as a everyday car, then a company car turned up. Was then only used on the weekends till very early 90s. Commitments changed so from the early 90s it's only ever had a yearly mot and tax, that stopped at 2002. Since then it's only been driven onto the drive or moved on a trailer.
Original in every way.

From my under standing there is less than 300 mk3 xr3i left in the uk.My elder brother had two in 80's, both from new.
Would love to see more pics of her.

Not quite the same but close enough for inspiration. Was wondering what it would look like with a plain white grille and details... I think that's how it will be painted . The set of spots look awesome too but I think I'll leave the spoiler off Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
