It certainly is - lovely! The cow horn front bumpers - do they make it an early or late car...? (I can never remember which way round it is). When The Who finally started making money Roger Daltrey went out and bought a brand new P1800 in white with a red interior, it was used in a few publicity photos at the time, I'm pretty sure it was a cow horn bumpered job.P5BNij said:

Here he is, with the boys from the Bush and the cowhorn bumpers!

Don't know if this should be here or in the "Period Pictures" thread but here's one of my latest acquisition in the days before it was restored.
Very nice. It looks great in black. I've occasionally seen these Crossley-based engine cars described as an "S-Type." Does yours have the ENV pre-selector box?
No, it has a Lagonda Z box although the chassis plate suggests it would have been built with an ENV selector box. It must have been changed at some stage. Not sure about S type but S would indicate "saloon" as opposed to T-type for "tourer" which was a general categorisation. The full name is 16/80 Special Six T7 Tourer.

Splendid! Ruddy 'ooligans, the lot of 'em
Not sure where that car is now...maybe at the bottom of a swimming pool somewhere!!!The 308 was subsequently re-sprayed in its original normal Ferrari silver hue and sold.

A family friend of ours bought an ex-Roger Daltrey carburettor Ferrari 308 GTS back in the 1980s (V-reg I think). It had a custom paint job which faded from dark grey lower flanks to silver above, with the word Ferrari ghosted into the door bottoms. I think it had similar paint treatment on the engine cover. Despite how it might sound, it actually looked quite nice. However, the paintwork met a sticky end when an intruder got into his garages undetected and splashed pain stripper over his cars (inc. a Maserati Khamsin and Kyalami).
The 308 was subsequently re-sprayed in its original normal Ferrari silver hue and sold.
Interesting story, although tragic that the paint was ruined in such a malicious way. There have always been ath-holes...and I guess there always will be...The 308 was subsequently re-sprayed in its original normal Ferrari silver hue and sold.
