Glorious weather today in Athens. 19 Celsius and clear skies.
Drove the Junior along my favourite coastal road and took a coffee break along the way.
Throughout the financial crisis in Greece, I was always thinking, "yeah, but they get to live in Greece!"
Great shot.

Ordered by Lt Colonel Brown at the Earl's Court Motor Show 1969, built in November 1969, registered 1 January 1970.
I recall seeing some of these before, have they been reproduced in a magazine article at some point?

I put the letters on the thread for my Jensen when I had it. Long gone to defray a tax bill, alas!

Colonel Brown's nephew is a member of PH and has commented on the car - he recalls being driven around in it as a child. The Colonel later had a Dolomite Sprint and other cool cars. He passed away some years ago. His name is attached to a golf prize at one of the posh golf clubs in north east Norfolk.

Lovely wedge in a great colour combo smile

Btw, 4rephill, if you would like to know what it's really like to have the misinformed populace bad mouth your P&J for being unreliable, try owning a TVR wink
very true.

And apart from a previous owners bodges, my TVR has been pretty reliable, amongst other things he bodged the cooling system to cover up a head gasket failure.
because of this it has had the heads skimmed and new gaskets and the cooling system repaired/replaced as necessary and just prior to this it had a new dizzy because the drive had worn and it became a lottery as to how it would run.

The mechanicals on this era TVR are pretty strong, a mix of rover (engine and box),ford (front suspension)and jaguar (rear suspension and diff), it tends to be electrical stuff that causes issues on these, getting a good earth on a plastic car is not easy.

I did something like 2.5k miles in it in the last 12 months, not once did it leave me stranded, even with the leaky HG it ran ok and still pulled really well.

First post... here's my Fordson.
Doug,

Nice, but are you old enough to remember John Baldacchino's Hot 'N' Bothered smile

Phil
Phil, I have been a Fordson addict since I saw Hot n Bothered, Plum Crazy and Street Freak Fordsons at shows and on the street in late 70s early 80s. I actually saw Hot n Bothered sitting outside Topman in Plymouth in 1981. Plum Crazy was back on the road last year after a long rebuild, complete with Daimler hemi... Not one to not be influenced by such occurrences, I have bought a low mileage Damler hemi 2.5 engine for mine.

Massively under rated cars. So elegant and the XJ was a great drive.

One of my first cars was a Sovereign that my father had bought for my Grandfather in 1973/4. When he finally stopped driving in his mid 90s he gave me the car. 24k on the clock, British Racing green.
