I've already posted a few shots of my Cooper S but I picked up these rare-ish early Cosmic 5''x10'' alloys for it this morning at the Stanford Hall show... can anyone recommend a good wheel refurbisher in the Warwickshire / Northants area...?

Love the wheels - quite a find and they will look great on your car. Pristine Wheels in Woburn Sands, Milton Keynes have a good reputation. Haven't used them myself but know a number of people who have with good results. I've no connection with the company, by the way.
Thanks - still chuffed at finding a set of four all together in the same place! I might end up having to go down to Woburn, some of the local firms only do the powder coating but not the full refurbishment. Are they the mob right next to Woburn Sands station..? Once the Cosmics (they're Mk3s apparently) are done I'll be getting the ride height sorted with new adjustable shocks all round. Got an electrical problem to sort out now too, the ignition light stays on with the engine running. I've replaced the voltage regulator / control box but the problem still persists so it needs looking at.

Very nice - love the Mk2 Mexico, very nearly bought a white one back in the early 80's after having sold my Mk1 Mexico.Too many seem to have been messed about with, shame.Hope you enjoy yours.

Yes, it's the place near the station.

Thanks again Threadman - good news though, I managed to find a 'one man band' wheel chappie about ten miles away who can do them.... strip, clean, repair and repaint for £45 per wheel, should be ready by the weekend.

You didn't see a strange 50s coupe parked in the car park outside per chance?

I just sold one of those Beswick steering wheel ashtrays on ebay, they go for surprisingly good money!

Cosmics now fitted, alas the balance weights on the rear of the fronts are rubbing slightly on the brake calipers so I'll need to do some fettling...

I agree, fantastic looking...... What sort of centre caps will you use? What about those Dunlop D1s on the floor? With choices like that who needs Minilites?
