I haven't had a proper look at it yet but i assume Subaru still sell the parts??

That Subaru doesnt look to bad apart from the missing rubber strip on the door, thats the 1800cc version fairly nippy little mover but on a quite night you can hear them rusting.
Some limited parts are available from IMGroup UK and Subaru US and Australia. But good body panels are very hard to come by. These Brats are rapidly gaining celebrity status and are quite sought after in the US. Someone needs to make carbon fibre panels for these...and the FB page is very popular.

imagineifyeswill, clearly a man who's heard the unique nighttime crunching sound of a rusting Brat wink

Spotted this beauty in Polignano a Mare (Puglia, South Italy) last week: Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Rally.

Memories of my old jalopy. Bodywork by Barry Waterhouse of Lanciana - stripe is under the clearcoat so done properly, ally doors, bonnet and boot lid (I think posted earlier here but too many pages to trawl):

Very nice, I rather like that. Genuine early Mk3 or is it a reshell...? (not that it matters). Looks like someone has added side repeaters to the front wings or it maybe a much later shell.

More pics please em177!

Many thanks, believe it or not the shell was originally a 1989 Mayfair. 5 or so years ago it was fully restored into what you see in the pics.

It's a bit of a parts bin but I really like the result. It's by no means perfect (the paint job is starting to show that) but overall it seems a useable one.

My plan is to enjoy it over the summer. Then make a list of jobs over the winter.

Time will tell how long that list becomes!

I'm picking it up tomorrow so will update with pics.

Sweet.. A '60's Cooper S lookalike would be worth the hassle and earn you a decent wedge if you flipped it later. Can you buy stick on fake external door hinges?

Here's my baby; shares a birth year and birth month with me (as nerdy as that is)

Not far off concourse, 75,000 miles.

Just a humble 1.8 GL, Weber 32 / 34 and a Jetex exhaust. Pokey enough for it's purpose. (Which is mainly sitting in the garage)

You can buy fake hinges but it doesn't mean you'll be able to pass it off as an accurate Mk1 / 2 Cooper S lookalike : the doors on the external hinged cars are a different size and shape to the later internally hinged ones, they're not as tall, whereas the later car's doors and rear quarter windows go right up to the underside of the roof seam. It is possible to fit the earlier bodyside panels and external hinged doors but it's a lot of work and it will still be possible to tell it's a fake from some of the other body panels, internal and external / floor pressings etc.
