Just had reason to post this pic' elsewhere, so thought a few on here may like it...

My Archie (250 Camaro powered '64 G10) chilling with his mate Otis (318 Mopar, '68 A100), back in the summer.

Taking the opportunity that winter presents to send the Cortina off to a local specialist for a full service, fluid flush and general look over.

After 2 years of cancelled events I am hoping that some can take place this spring and summer and I want to make sure Tina is ready to go.

Now's the time, Cortina looks good. Just doing similar with my van. We managed about half a dozen events with the van last year, from small private camps to a couple of major drag racing weekends, but already looking forward to a healthier calendar this year. Conversely, I bought a '72 Pinto two years back that I've barely driven due to buying the weekend before the first lockdown...

I had an amber gold 1600E with tan interior.
It meant a lot to me as a youngster and was my first decent car.
Was one of the cars to have at the time.

Mine is one of the Series 1 cars, the one with the dash hump for additional dials.

Took me a while to find it as I really wanted that dash and I have now had it for just over 10 years.

Where are you based? The van pic looks like Scotland?
The van pic was at Torridon up the west coast of Scotland
It looked like Scotland - Torridon is one of my favourite places here, have spent a bit of time there over the years.

Yes agreed it’s a bit Wagon Wheeled. That’s why he’s changing to 17” 10x17 up back with 275.

Gearbox. I can’t recall. It’s the one used in the 3.6. Getrac iirc
Ah, OK. Hopefully a simple swap then.
Getrag 265 is the popular choice (IIRC Harry´s XJC has the same). I have it on mine, with 3:31 rear end (which is perfect!). Wheels are period correct Arden XJS 16" wheels by Rial. Intake and exhaust is modified and it´s the perfect GT.

I've just found a file of forgotten photos of one the '69 Mk2 Coopers I used to own back in 2010....

It looks pretty good here but having spent its first forty years living in Cornwall it was in need of a full restoration when I sold it the following year.

That is lovely and I’m sure I recognise the reg’ number - have you ever taken it to the Mini shows at Stanford Hall or Himley Hall?

Great colour combo too wink

Lovely. thumbup

The first car I can remember my uncle having was a Turquoise Mini company car in the early 60s, but without the white roof.

Really must try and find my "mojo" to use this a lot more in 2022. It's barely moved in recent years.... We got it to the stage where it drives nice, and although it needs a bit of bodywork that means it's ideal for just tanking around in. But it just gets left in the garage. I've thought about selling it a few times but as they're so cheap in the UK it'll only replace itself with something that doesn't deliver anywhere near as much. We've had it nearly 15 years so I guess it's staying......

It’s a V12
Just back from paint. Already converted to manual, uprated suspenders and PAS valved. Plus loads more.

And loads more to go. Wheels are not staying. Only on for sizing.

Oh and a saucy exhaust. Sounds epic.

Like that a lot! Manual conversion one of the best mods you can make. Hopefully he's gone for the Bilsteins when upgrading the suspension thumbup

DB7 wheels look spot on. I'd keep them on, with a change to a leaper centre cap.
