Wow,

What a response? It's a small world. I should have got the reg number but I was so surprised to see one I had a "Blond" moment? It was peacock blue and looked immaculate? Perhaps the owner will read this???

Justin it's been a long time. We are having a launch party for my Polish HK500 it you happen to be around Poole end of June?

Regards,

Adam

Well we can help narrow it down a bit, we are just north of you in Somerset and have 705 cut. It wasn't us.

Good morning Duesey,

Thank you for posting. I was confident it would be your car but the plot thickens. So no to Duesey, no to Manny and his cars are black anyway? Justins car is no longer blue?????????? Come on guys, solve my mystery?

Hi Guys,

Sorry can't help with the original question but have been waiting for somewhere to post these, I thought they might be of interest.

I wonder are the 2 cars from 1964 Motor Show on that list ??

The HWM document is partially wrong. Yes, two cars were exhibit at the 1964 London Motor Show (HK2B154 and HK2B156).

The first Facel II will be HK2B156. Original specs are Silver Grey/Blue leather, automatic gearbox, wire wheels...
This car is now painted in blue.

The second one was not a manual 6.7L in maroon color. It was HK2B154, a Iridescent Facel Blue car with grey leather, disk wheels and automatic gearbox. It was for sale in USA few years ago and now in restoration in Europe.

Owning Martin Buckley's book is probably the closest I'm going to get to having one of these. frown

So you're the one who bought it then?

On my first visit to the Motor Show as a lad, I remember seeing a Facel and loved the console with all those gauges it started my love of cars.
Met a guy called Michelle at a dinner at the Automobile Club De Monaco last year.He was a real Facel fan and had brought one of his cars that evening, a beautifully restored HK500.Weird push button gear selection and the wood trim is painted metal!!

I've always kept away from forums having seen the trouble that people have got into by arousing considerable invective, but the chances of talking Facels is just too much...

I can confirm (I think) that the mystery Facel 11 was not 432EMW, judging from the amount of dust on it at the moment (unless a son pinched it while the owner was in Malaysia). I would suggest that it was LNG44 which belongs to Freddy Page-Roberts who does live in Dorset, near Poole, I think. It would have been recogniseable by the re-positioned rear lights, but they have now been put back to standard by Simon Merrison in Billingshurst, but it is a paler blue than 432EMW and more peacock, as described and as pictured.

Always good to hear of Facels on the road; I might even take mine out to an oil well near here today, depending on the state of my mortgage. A red Facellia was reported in Midhurst at the weekend. As mine is currently off the road awaiting its rebuilt carburettor, I suspect it must have been Diana Housego-Woolgar's. Any more Facel sightings?

Was a fantastic dark green HK500 at Wheels Day in Aldershot on Good Friday.

More than one hot rodder drooling over the rear lights.

Reg ended in KID (sort of)

Hi Bob,
I never seen so much Facel II owners speaking to each other on a forum... Your car belonged to Rob walker I think. Amazing! Here is few pictures saved on my computer.

Here is mine last weekend, always a great pleasure to drive this car.
