A female friend of myn is leaving just after christmas to go and live with her parents at the other end of the country. She means alot to me and i care for her greatly. I want to give her a piece of Jewelery when she goes but being a bloke have no idea what to give!!

Help!! The Budget is about £100.

The item must say 'I love you' but in a friendship way not anymore, becuase although we have ended up in bed together it aint like that!

Eternity/ friendship ring

....though the preference is probably for a 'meaningful' necklace

I know she does rings, she has a couple, one being her wedding ring, but i suspect that might come off soon (she is divorceing)

A ring is good, but which ones go on whcih fingers?

I can check which fingers have rings on next time i see her.

A pendant (that she can put on any necklace) would be good. Unlike a ring, you can't get it stuck on a finger. What about something with her birthstone?

A ring might be tough, because you have to know what size for which finger.

What's her style anyway? Classic, modern? www.elizabethmcclymont.com/amber.html

The Rennie MacIntosh designs are very modern.

This page has some interesting designs of a Scottish influence (for some reason, when you said other end of the country, I thought Scotland).

She's not flashy and is a casual lady rather than smart. Subtle is the word i think.

Which finger does an friendship ring go on?

If you go the ring route, just make sure you don't slip and land on one knee, ring in hand, in front of her

Should be some good bargains available around Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire, if you have cash
Must be looking for satanic symbols, bats, etc., though.

I'd go for a bracelet or bangle - you can usually get these with diamonds in them or other gem stones that can express a meaning of love with out actually meaning it if you get my drift.
Also go for something unfussy, make sure any stones don't stick up or she will snag her clothes on it. I have a white gold bangle which someone bought me with 6 diamond sunk into it and its just lovely! I would much prefer that if i was her than a ring.

Just bought a few pieces yesterday. Yes, completely overpriced for what it is but the Tiffany box works wonders. www.tiffanys.com

I'd go for something she could use alot. I normally go for jewelery/shoes/clothes as a present when I get back after being on the road for a few weeks. Last time I thought about doing something abit different and went for an iPod mini. Better than diamonds I say. She uses it EVERYDAY and absolutely loves it.

I'd go along those lines or get a really unique piece of silver jewelery as 100 quid isn´t going to get you much in the gold/white gold/platinum department.

For silverware try...

Not jewelery as womens tastes can vary considerably.

A book of poetry, you will also be able to write something suitable inside, you could look for a first edition classic.

How about something like a Mont Blanc pen? You could even go the whole 9 yards and have some really good quality stationery printed with her name on, although I suspect buying both will blow the £100 budget!
