As the "cool plane" thread has developed into a string of pics, I thought I`d stick my favourites on here. Most are originally wallpaper size, so if you want a copy email me. Anyone else got some gooduns?

For those among us with a more... "civilian" leaning, here's my favourite photo site.

www.airliners.net

(The easiest way in is to click "Most popular of all time")

I think my favourite individual pic is the photo of the 747 against the moon (I won't copy the pic here for copyright reasons). The P2P sharing networks have quite a few "interesting" movies of Kai-Tak landings!

Then why start a new thread for the same topic?

My kind of pilot.. The noise must have be awsome! When I've been to airshows and they've done low runway passes the sound physically moves you!

For those that like commercial airliners - and keeping it somewhat car related. This is my mate, Jay. He is a commercial pilot for American Airlines, and he is shown here with his two favourite vehicles that he drives. Not sure which one corners better .

(767 IIRC)

Must be a 767. The engine looks too small to be a 777.

Gotta love the TSR2 concept plane (xr219 on the body) It has the most amazing shape in real life with only tiny stubby wings and egines half hidden in the fuselage.
One of only two surviving examples is housed at RAF Cosford, the other at RAF Duxford (apparently) I saw the one at Cosford and thought it couldn't have possibly flown.
Two of the stewards there new all about it and reckoned that it would have been as good now as our current fighters. Harold Wilsons government cancelled the project and ordered everything destroyed. Then we spent millions on an aborted plan to buy F-111 from the americans. We ended up buying into a european fighter instead. What a complete waste of money and a real shame the TSR2 never got built.

I think one year they did the charter service using Concorde. Very cool...
