Sorry for the thread hijack.
BA do a charter flight each year into Fairford from Heathrow. Was £125 last year.
The flight is about 30 minutes there and about 40 back
Only trouble is the seats are pre allocated. On the way out I was virtually in the middle of the plane and saw bugger all. On the way back I was allocated a window seat
The take off was impressive being they wound it up to full power. There was about 35-40 tonnes of fuel on board (normally a full loaded 747 is about 180), no catering and only hand luggage. It did move!!
They do a running commentary aswell. Any profits go to charity.

Eric Mc......the photo posted by Delta Fox is in fact the Sukhoi Su47 (S-37) Berkut........another soviet design heavily influenced from elsewhere.
regarding the 767 or 777 piccy (with the Fezza) it may be a 777 , the Trent engines on some 777s are not as large as the GE90 monsters.
otherwise it may be a 767-400...... that has a longer undercarriage leg .......
the aircraft nacelle in the picture appears to be too high off the ground to be a 767-200/300 of which you can actually lean into quite easily
the killer clue if it was clear enough, would be to get a better glimpse of the main undercarriage bogey....

Eric.....i've just had a look-see at the Emirates 777( RR Trent power) outside my office.....and am willing to bet that the aircraft in the piccy with Fezza is a Trent 777........
if you look closely at the Port main gear in the photo ,you will notice the barrel shaped object sticking up from the bogey.......this is not on the 767 , i think it's part of the 777 anti-skid system
also the spinner on the engine in the piccy is pointed whereas the majority of 767s spinners are 'domed' (CF6 engine & P&W)
i may be wrong.....though
i am definitely sad
