How to get free booze
Discussion
Sorry but this is Bollocks, and I am wondering if you are their sales/ marketing manager?
Magners is a brand invented by C&C Group, to advertise to gullable Americans (and then, later on to guillable everyone else). Part of their brands include Coors, Grolsch, WKD, Carling etc. Its not a "traditional Irish cider", more of a "rebranded Bulmers cider with added shamrocks"
(see here: www.candcgroupplc.com/our_brands.asp)
And when you keep saying "that cool, refreshing taste"! Oh please. I know its been free advertising, but there are better ways to advertise...

If anyone wants to buy some tinnies and your local from Hayes, Middlesex, the Bottle & Brew off-license sells them there and they're lovely
Cheers

I certainly don't work for them, William. I am the Richard Kirby character mentioned in "Vincenzo's" letter. I work in plastic & rubber. Now would anyone who didn't work in plastic & rubber admit to working in plastic & rubber? I can provide pictures of me at the prestigious Plastic & Rubber Industry Awards if you still don't believe me.
Perhaps sarcasm is something you struggle with? My repetitive use of the phrase "...the cool, refreshing taste of Magners..." was essentially to take the mick out of Tansy who used it in the first place. Are you one of the "gullible Americans" you mentioned?
NB I have corrected your inconsistent misspelling of "gullible" and your unhyphenated use of "re-branded" in my quotation of your original post. Since you are no doubt a perfectionist I hope you appreciate this

OK, you clearly do not have a clue what you are talking about. First, Coors, WKD, Carling etc. are third party brands, hence brewed under licence and not owned by C&C. C&C is a minnow in the global drinks industry. Secondly, Magners was created as HP Bulmer & Co. (UK) have the global rights to the Bulmers name (excluding Rep. of Ireland). Magners, I believe, was created to launch into Northern Ireland and yes, it is sold in the States, but mainly in Irish bars to ex-pats. The branding is not all shamrocks etc. Good marketing by C&C, one new happy customer and a bit of free press.
As an aside C&C brought cider from the town parks into the boardrooms, no mean feat considering the rep. cider has.
At yes, they apply Irish pricing (read expensive!).

Tip heavily on the friday and on the Saturday you drink for free...
Well, Stateside anyway...
I used to tip one dollar for every beer i bought in my local bar, every other beer would be 'on the house'.
I don't ever tip bar staff in the UK, it's just throwing money away!

Hmmmm..
Pretty sure Tansy knew you were blagging and just found your email quite amusing, perking up an otherwise monotonous day.
Bet she's not happy to see you ragging her on here though...
