No, we're deadly serious. It's a task that needs considerable skill and timing to get just right - it's not like pouring Cornflakes in a bowl y'know.

I would have stopped this after reading the link I gave to delia smiths website.

No one messes with Delia when it comes to cooking an egg.

Once your p*ss has boiled, that's when you put your egg in (3min for fridge stored eggs, 4 min for room temp - P*ss served at whatever temp it arrived at).

Unless she's bladdered and shouting the odds during half time at Carrow Road. hehe

Mind you as said earlier Methode Saint Delia takes some beating and I do actually see boiled eggs on the menu.

If you are boiling from cold then the timing is going to depend on the size of the pan, the volume of water in the pan and the type of heating apparatus.

And the shape of the pan, starting temperatures of water, egg and pan, the ambient temperature of the room, how draughty it is, the barometric pressure, voltage or gas pressure fluctuations in the supply to the cooker, the concentrations of the various different impurities in the water supply, the intensity, efficiency and state of operation of any hob lighting, all sorts of shit...

If you are going to say "boil for 3 minutes from cold" then we are going to need a little more information in order to recreate your method precisely... nerd

Fat Audi 80, you are the bloke from Dragon's Den and I claim my £5. hehe
