I really wouldn't mind going to this and having a good laugh with my mates, but I know I couldn't cope with all the bands banging on about how we are killing the planet.

It's a shame really.

Pop star = tw@t

Funny how Bono's a tax exile - you'd think he'd give it all to the starving Africans... pious git.

Ditto. Self-righteous, self aggrandising gits, the lot of 'em.
But maybe they stir up the minds of the morally vacant majority, the bland middle Englanders, the semi-chavs with gold taps.

Personally, I am offended by their piety- they should remain as little minstrels in my CD player, entertaining me with their little outfits etc. How quaint. But I wouldn't want a moral lesson from a guy in 28 day old leather trousers.

It's environmental consumersim gone mad!

Here's an idea, how about we organise an environmental protest and picket it as a big waste of resources? We could dress up as earth mother/swampy types, wear hemp clothing, paint our faces, and get placards made up with CND, anti Isreali/Pro Palestinain stuff on them, Stop the War etc etc. Oh the fun we could have! We could invite the usual rent a mob groups to join us, and they actually might do so too. Socialist worker, anti globalists etc.

So I take it the bands wont all be flying in with their private planes, the supporters wont all be driving down to london, and all the power they use wil be from the wembley wind farm they built on top of it

How many carbons will be used up:
1) flying these popstars in from around the world?
2) by 60 million viewers around the world switching on their TV for 12 hours?

I'm going to go out and cut my lawn with my petrol 4 stroke lawnmower in honour of these gits. That should carbonise nicely. Then I will light my patio heaters to make sure I'm warm enough to use my gas powered barbeque upon which will be large Aberdeen Angus steaks, which have been grass fed just like my lawnmower.
I should then fire up my V8 , but I don't have one, so I'll content myself with firing up both my straight fours instead.
I may just do all this tomorrow when it's light, except I'm hungry, and a late night solo barbie appeals, especially when I have the next four days off.

I suppose all the 'artists' will be travelling in on their sail boats while their equipment and roadies will be using the canals for transport and the gazzillion treehuggers that watch this goddarn awful noisefest will be using solar powered televisions.
All the litter produced at the concert will be left to rot down naturally after the audience have left Wembley on their bicycles.

Load. Of. Tosh.

Now let me see.

A huge bunch of people with millions of pounds in the bank, many houses, and large cars, and possibly private planes/helicopters will pursuade me to stop driving my 1.9tdi car?

I think not.
