Now let me see.

A huge bunch of people with millions of pounds in the bank, many houses, and large cars, and possibly private planes/helicopters will pursuade me to stop driving my 1.9tdi car?

I think not.

Apparently it is going to be "carbon neutral" rofl

Are they flying in on solar powered planes???
They've ironed the bugs out of the conveyor belt so they can get the plane up in the air. It's powered by the gas given off by rotting vegetation.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when they say the concerts are to "raise awareness". Fcuks me, if anybody wasn't fully aware of the garbage spoken every second on TV then they must have been in a coma for two years.

What a load of mindless, lentilist propaganda. Can they not see how rediculous the whole idea of having 121 pop concerts around the globe is in terms of promoting environmentalism?!

I can now fully appreciate how Hitler gained the popularity and control he had. The vast majority of the pupulus are just brain-dead sheep.

Well at least that's less than half of the USA. Imagine if he blamed everyone who voted for him!

Am I the only person who thinks that the only reason why Al Gore's gone the way he has is to lash back at the White House because he didn't win the presidential race back in 2000?

It took him a few years to come up with an issue to bash Bush with that hadn't already been done better my Michael Moore, and settled on this.

This is all part of Gore's 'two fingers up at Dubya' project. Now I don't like the warmongering cowboy at the best of times, but Gore is really starting to get on my wires.

Al - you're not President and you're not goint to be, get over it and go and have a nice drive in your Mustang.

I agree. I don't care how sincere he is, his actions completely undermine his message. He swans about the place petitioning Governments to increase the percentage of the tax take that goes towards Third World aid (the ONE campaign), then moves U2's publishing company from Ireland to Holland because of the lower tax regime. What else does that make him other than a complete hypocrite? As for poverty, this is the man who flew his HAT from London to Rome at a cost of $1500. If he really wants to put pressure on World leaders, why doesn't he go and shout at the likes of Robert Mugabe? Maybe discuss AIDS and birth control with Thabo Mbeki?

Still, at least a percentage of the cost of the official U2 $175 Armani sunglasses goes to charity, so we can all feel warm and fuzzy about fighting poverty whilst still looking fashionable, because the fashion industry isn't utterly superficial and shallow, oh no.

As for Live Earth...what a complete waste of time. Not only have you got the pollution caused by the performers and all the equipment, you've got thousands of fans travelling all over the place, huge amounts of food and water, vast quantities of litter and who knows what else to contend with. Let's raise awareness of pollution and waste by creating vast amounts of both! Idiots.

For some reason, the coverage seems to be more watching Liam Gallagher in the crowd rather than the bands on stage.

Exactly, this is about personal wealth for Al, what was he going to do when he didn't get in The White House? He needed a pay packet from something and this was convenient. No different from Blair becoming a peace envoy in the middle east rolleyes, it is purely about money.

I can't remember ever hearing about climate change from Al when he had a job with the democrats?

A private jet as soon as the gigs over.

I've just turned it over and seen Thandie Newton praising George Clooney for running an electric car.
All I have to say about that and the whole Live Earth thing is OFF !
