What a load of egotistical, lentilist propaganda!

The depths that the worlds Governments are prepared to trudge through in order to raise taxes doesn't surprise me, but the publics' gullabilty is astonishing. The irony of this whole performance is truly vomit-inducing.

1) Prove that 'climate change' is due to man-made polution (To do that you need to disprove the strong evidence against it).

2) Demonstrate how the increased taxes are used to 'save the planet'.

Hypocrits, all of them.

They said on 5 Live that people are loving the music, but in between bands they have someone coming on and giving information on global warming etc and apparently no-one at the gig is really paying much attention! hehe

biggrin

They ought to try replaying news stories of Al Gore III being arrested for doing a ton in his Toyota Pious (way2go Al Jr baby) and transporting 'vegetation' plus pharmaceuticals in his toy car. Then again...

I can't believe what tosh this is. Whoever the D-list celeb is they're interviewing at the moment has just praised the 'lovely warm weather' which everyone can bask in and enjoy the event.

WTF are these people on!
A private jet as soon as the gigs over.

I've just turned it over and seen Thandie Newton praising George Clooney for running an electric car.
All I have to say about that and the whole Live Earth thing is OFF !

Back to the GP2 on Eurosport.
FFS I heard the Clooney quote on R4 this afternoon. Why can't we just have one spokesman (Clarkson maybe) asking loudly the question: How does he charge it then? I can not recall the last time I heard any counter-criticism from anyone about CC. JC seems to be the perfect spokesman to me. I know a lot of people hate him but at least they hear what he says. Might just make the populus question the authorities. Also why has no-one questionned why the only people we hear about CC from are POLITICIANS - not eminent scientists?

I'm sure Terry Wogan jockingly commented on the fact that it's always Policitans and not scientists that we hear about global warming from on his radio 2 show.

He gets away with it, the rest of the BBC radio 2 DJs (maybe Ken Bruce aside) just seem to toe the line.

Thank you, that's the crux of the problem, he made a joke of it. Perhaps if someone could voice the relevant concerns (loudly and often, hence the suggestion of JC), we might just make a few people question rather than accept what HMG feed us.

Just pressed the red button and went interactive... Metallica currently being repeated on the "central" option!

ETA:
Looks like it's a 30 minute delay of the live music performances, so we might get to see Spinal Tap again too!

Live Earth is pathetic, Al Gore appearing on our screens like some type of cult leader from middle America and a load of 'Prius' owning celebrities believing they have the power to save the earth - travelling to concerts all over the world in their private jets...

Yes we should all be looking after our planet, but we should not be ignoring 'real' science. First global warming, then climate change...lets call it what it really is, a strategy to keep down emerging economies, the restribution of wealth from the middle classes, and the continued march toward a socialist state.

What our governments can't introduce in the name of terrorism, they'll do in the name of climate change! rolleyes

Ricky Gervais and Chris Rock are the only thing that has been worth watching. Chris Rock: 'I just hope it ends global warming like Live Aid ended world hunger'. hehe

ROFL, brilliant. And if, the celebrities were as good as they thought they were and, the dieing from hunger stopped, just imagine the impact all that extra CO2 would have upon our climate. Perhaps Bono should make a choice, cull those from developing countries or ban CO2 until all the trees die and he can have a 'Live Tree' concert. rolleyes

I'm not quite sure how flying Shakira to Hamburg, UB40 to Joburg and KT Tunstall to New York helps to reduce their 'carbon footprints'?? confused

I'm watching and its hilarious. Funniest TV I've seen in a long time.

Save for one or two beardy types, nobody on the BBC coverage seems to be taking it seriously.

I can't believe they cut away from Spinal Tap to show some bint in Tokyo confused
