The key phrase in this thread is Beautiful I think. All of the others listed are certainly sexy, damned sexy (Famke as Xenia) , seductive, dirty, titillating (certainly Ursula had some of the nicest titills ever to appear on screen) , but beautiful? That's a whole different thing.

My nomination for the most pleasing to the eye is Carole Bouquet as Melina Havelock



Now, don't get me wrong, I'll take sexy and seductive over beautiful for fun and frolick every day of the week (and twice on Sunday) but appreciation of beauty can be had without that necessity.

All in the eye of the beholder...

Maybe its because she appears to over-act, when she is on the train, there is something wrong with her accent, its like she is trying too hard, then when she starts crying when Bond wakes up after the Le Chiffre episode.

She also looks dirty (not a bad thing in most cases) More unkempt than dirty. Because of her frackles, she also has to use a lot more makeup and that adds to the unkempt look.



Also, if you watch CR carefully, you may notice that gravity has not been kind to her...

PS: I'm just disappointed because the actress for Vesper didn't match my mental expectations after reading the book. Of course Craig was hardly Hoagy Carmichael either

Vesper, should have been played by someone like Rosamund Pike, shame she was a villan and was killed in the last 1! Someone stronger, more well-known..I can't think of anyone at the moment.

I am ashamed to say I haven't read any of the James Bond books even though I am an avid fan of the series, my Dad has read all of them and picks the faults in the different films.

Like who is Mr White? Why did he play such a prominent role, when he wasn't really developed as a major character? My Dad had to explain to me that he was from SMERSH, which didn't seem to figure at all in Casino Royale, the film.
