I heard a rumour that it would be today. Checking the cameras earlier (http://www.tvoc.co.uk/) showed a lot of activity around the back of the Vulcan.

Now, the hanger is empty. Will it be today???

It looks from the webcam as if they backed it out of the hanger first thing this morning. Surely if they were going to fly it they would have made an announcement first!!!! Having said that it has now disappeared from view!

Looks like it'll be a weekday between 15/10/07 and 02/11/07.

Looks like they are wheeling it out, it left the hanger at about 1300.

As it left it had a trail of emergency vehicles following it. I doubt the first flight will be today but I reckon it will be jogging up and down the runway. It hasn't actually moved under its own steam yet and won't until they get CAA approval which basically means ready for flight. So as soon as a fast taxi run or two happens then it really won't be long until it flies.

It went out to do a fast taxi yesterday, it rained, the crew drank coffee then they came home. I gather the weather is better today but in order to do fast taxis or a first flight it needs to be dry with a minimum cloud base of 2000ft.

Great to see the old girl up in the air.

A real 'kick in the face' for the left wing who, at the start of the project, vehmently opposed it's restoration to flying condition due to it's obvious Military/Cold War connections.

Might need the damn thing again if Labour keep slicing lumps off the RAF.

That's fantastic, I worked on Green Satin radar for a while that came from Canberra but was also used on the Vulcan as well.
