Dislike Chicago O'Hare for sheer boredom ness.
T5 which the British airlines use is bloody awful. Nothing to do at all. T3 which is used by AA etc.. for intl flights is miles better.

Best: Schipol again. Esepcially since they have loads of trains connecting you Amsterdam and various other places.

Worst: Treviso, one of the airports for Venice. It's tiny, it's cramped, it's crap, and Ryanair staff leave at 10pm so when your plane gets cancelled at midnight you're left with two scared Italian staff members who don't know what's going on and are faced with a large number of pissed off English tourists.

The floor at Marco Polo is too cold, and the benches are crap as they are divided by arm rests so you can't sleep on those so the floor is the only option. Verona airport has benches that you can sleep on, but the air conditioning squeaks.
Treviso: So they still haven't done anything to improve it. Sounds like it was 3 years ago.

Marco Polo and Verona: 2 words- Priority Pass. smile
This was 3 years ago, I doubt they've done anything to change it, but we haven't been back to find out.

Amusingly the security coming into Heathrow on a Brit passport gave me more aggro than the Yanks at Logan last time round.

By amusing I mean 'stop being a stupid bitch and give me a f*cking break, I've been awake for about 3 sodding days'

Oh don't, I think he was a bit pervy! I did tell him it was my dirty washing and he said 'I don't mind'

Thought of some more, Kuala Lumpur - impressive looking building - and the food was ok as we used to go there to eat in the evening sometimes when staying at the hotel next door!

Sao Paulo - awful, dated and brown, hot and smelly.

I hate LAX now following the post 9/11 measures - it used to be ok, but now it is just aweful, queues everywhere and nothing to do in the departure lounge/gate areas.

ETA: I hate Dulles with a passion too, I was 'flagged' as a suspicious person when I was there and had to go through special security and searches at each stage. Tossers.

Delhi is dreadful, the business lounge is like a DSS office. Even has people laying on the floors and it stinks!!!

Even when you get past the normal for Norfolk Ohio TSA muppets, you're in ing Cincinnati yuck

Never had a problem anywhere else in the US, including JFK and O'Hare, but every time I've been through CVG there have been delays, security alerts, abjectly rude staff, items stolen from bags etc. etc.

I know I flew back just after 9/11 but apart from my case being absolutely emptied, they had my shoes off me, my loose change in my hand, my laptop out, everything, I could barely walk through with everything I had to take out and carry!

Oh and just remembered another even worse airport for security was Montreal - they made us power up our laptops to show them the Windows screen - my colleague's had gone flat and we were all desperately hunting for a mains lead and adaptor plug that would fit his (we all had different ones) so we could get it up and running for him and get on the flight.

Flying through Moscow's Shermetyevo airport was one scary experience yikes so that will be my worst, together with Kinshasa airport, where I had once to go to to pick up documents because our contact person there didn't get a visa to go to the UK... worst trip ever.

Best is, once again, Schipol

Gatwick. Unspeakably desperate.
I steadfastly refuse to use it.

I quite liked it before, shops are ok - but the pub seemed to have disappeared this time to be replaced with a bar that would be more in place with Sutton High St on a Saturday night...

I was in Barcelona's second airport (can't remember the name, the cheap one Ryanair fly's to) and it was amazing. Walked off the plane, two customs officials in a box at the gate (no queue) and bags were ready right away. 15 mins after landing I was on my way.

Of course it then took over an hour to get to Barcelona itself rolleyes

Best- Schipol, with a worthy mention for Osaka.
Worst- International, it has to be CDG, but worth mentioning the small african ones i've flown into/out of, Pointe Noire probably the worst, having all your local currency taken from you before going through to departures only to find the bar/cafe only takes local currency!
Having to bribe my way into Congo, in hindsight, was a bit sily, what would they have done if i hadn't paid? Sent me home?

My favourite is Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific's Wing lounge is very good.
Apart from the slowest "broadband" ever. Would have been quicker to use signal fires back to the UK.

Ooh yes, I've been to Osaka airport too. Was that the one built on reclaimed land??

Best is Rotterdam, small & slick & lots of shops & things.
Worst is Lunghi, Sierra Leone when were there just before Xmas 06, saw a LARGE brown rat scamper through the cafeteria area & up the wall & through a small hole, all of us brits were to shocked to shout! Corruption is rife, only way to get through is with local notes.... Wasn't any better in July either.

I just loathe all UK airports because of the immigration nazis you meet on your way back in. Not been a problem for me, but my Polish wife was given all sorts of grief AFTER we were legally married IN THIS country and she was given all the paperwork to remain. Why then would the immigration nazis question her further when we'd already paid for all the documentation necessary?

But Luton has a particular place in the corner of my heart I reserve for absolute hatred. Irrational really as it's quite clean, recently revamped and has a decent-ish cafe but I tend to only go through when everyone else in the world is there at the same time.

I used to love flying but the pain of the security and the suspicion you're placed under nowadays leaves me thinking it would be better to just drive. I love driving in Europe. Bit of an arse to go further though.
