It's an interesting proposition, and you have my sympathies.

However, I can't help but think that us bailing you out isn't really going to help you. Only by dealing with your own mistakes will you learn the true cost of your error, and you'll become a better man for it (sorry for the philosphical cliche, but it's true).

I would gladly donate a mere quid (if the circumstances merited it), but I'm surprised you have the face to ask (given the circumstances), guess you've got big balls though!

Can't you just get a loan over say 3 or 4 years. Shouldn't cost that much, and it'll serve as a reminder of the error of your ways for a good few years. You'd still be able to take the wife away then too.

And before you say anything, I've also made mistakes and lost a lot of money (far more than you in fact, not that I'm a better man, far from it), and had to deal with it myself. Didn't dare ask anyone to bail me out.

Sorry if this sounds less than enthusiastic, I do sympathise, and really hope you work it out.

Too right ..

your hole - you get out of it ...

balance transfer the lot - pay it off gradually.

Pay your bill and get a 0% on purchases card to live off and pay the trip with and pay more off the balance transfer.

you get to keep the wife - you may even hide it from her.

you also have to ber the pain - cut out a few beers a week for a couple of years, and fewer toys..

But if you'd like to contribute a pound to my run a veryon fund I can afford to buy one especially if a few more (friends) suckers contribute..

Simes.

Can you not claim it back on expenses at work?

Luckily I did this a few years ago to the tune of £2K with my boss... and he did!!!

Just a thought, if you don't sort out your joint finances, isn't your wife going to notice the sodding great bill when it arrives? Or if it's online, the statement history will give it away, even if you do manage to get hold of the money somehow.

So. You come here having spent your money on hookers and drink and are asking us for an investment - MY CHILDRENS INHERITANCE - of £1?

I think your idea is sound but the public won't go for it so it isnt an investment for me. You have no product.

For that reason I'm ooot

As someone has said above, balance transfer onto a new card, get rid of the statement for your current card showing the miscreant debits and the subsequent transfer to a new card. Old card is now clean and no evidence of this incident. Pay new card off in cash at the bank, to avoid any debits/cheques on your current account that she may notice.

FWIW

If I was your wife, I would much rather hear how stupid you have been from you, and not receiving the credit card statement and thinking what a lowlife sleazy scumbucket you are.

Do the decent thing cough and hope your other half is understanding.

And make sure you make it up to your wife, I would be fuming if I hadn't had a honeymoon, but found out you blew 2.5k on strippers.

So even IF people wanted to donate money, you've not actually set anything up for them to do so?

I don't really fancy your chances so far.

I think you should just tell her. She's going to find out anyway.
