I suspected that you were daft.

I am afraid that you have now removed any doubt.

Don't even think about it.

FWIW I think you should tell her the truth, tell her you ed up and explain what happened, how bloody awful you feel about it and what it means for your family.

If you try to cover it up, she will find something that tells her that something is wrong and she'll come to all sorts of conclusions that may or not be true and then she'll dig until she finds out what happened having in the meantime convinced herself that you financed a night of passion with some floozy that you're still seeing.

Face it, if she deals with your finances you are going to get found out one way or another, better to do it on your own terms early on.

For years to come we can all explain our slight drunkedness, innappropriate comments and birdwatching with the simple words. "Honey, I may not be perfect, but at least I'm not an aerofoil!"

fair play btw, although i would have contacted the Credit Card and explained to the nice lady that I wastn aware naked ladies cost so much (2.5k on strippers, what did you do line them up on stage)

If there's a way to hide it then do it. Just make sure she can NEVER find out, else you're dead. (Oh, and my missus has just gone mad that I told you to do that!! So you definitely have to hide it (if you can))

Get a paypal account and post the details. Any one interested can then give you the cash.

If you do decide to tell her, be prepared for all the "and another things" she has been secretly harbouring for many years....

I would be easy to rip into you here, but something doesn't feel right.

Just tell your wife, and be done with it, try a part time job, supermarket work or something along those lines.

Lesson learned and all that.

Good idea.

Assuming the credit card statement doesn't list it as 'XXX Stripclub' or some such....

I've spent a while trying to come up with useful advice but failed. I'll keep thinking. Everything comes back to this: if she handles all the money in your house there's no way you can get around it so tell her - even if you have to adapt the truth to lessen the blow.

Just tell her you went out and had an awesome meal with friends - lots of drink then played credit car roulette. You all put your cards in and the waitress picked one out - yours.

Seriosuly though - 2.5k at a stripclub is excessive. In London they are about £30 a dance - then yo ucan buy time (200 an hour maybe?). Unless you were paying for others, or multi-tasking strippers (over rated IMO wink ) then maybe they did take the piss with tips or something.

£750 a go, but there is no way on gods earth I would have agreed to that sober, I really was drunk, to the point of barely any memory. There is nothing I can do about this though.....I am normally so careful with money, I have not normally even got a credit card bill, I just messed up big time.
£750 a go !!! That wasn't just strippers then wink

Actually, getting new credit card and transferring the balance is probably the best idea.

Let's hope she doesn't notice the spike in the monthly statements and ask, "Darling, what is this £2,500 paid to HOT GAY XXX MANGINA COCK CLUB?"

I think he's onto something, I just got a bill for car repairs of £890. If people give me £1 towards this bill i'll let you take a picture of yourself next to the car. wink

Can't see us been able to stand next to the strippers.

Anyway let me know the details i'm happy to give a £1, done some stupid things in my time but can't beat that.

I do feel sorry for you, but that truly is epic there is no other way to describe it!
I really am (literally) shaking my head in disbelief!! hehe

Oh and having just read your reply, I'd be more than happy to pop a pound out to you.
Unfortunately, I think I'd have to say it covered the amount of laughing when i read your post!
I was rather mocked for blowing £5k> in one semester at uni but that is legendary...

My Mrs was quiite amenable to me blowing £350 paying for a meal and wine when I lost at several games of spoof.

Still, not quite £2.5K, and at least I told here whilst I was utterly pissed, in fact I called her trying to get advice on which credit card might cover the bill!

You are fooked laddy. Get it out in the open. Tell her, the longer you leave it the worse it will be, don't hide the debt, she will discover it.

In fact ask her to spoof for it, you might just win!
