What incredibly poor journalism. Thanks for highlighting that, so I don't look again.

The School director Robert Boulos called the verdict "very fair" adding: "She could have had six months and lashes and a fine and she only got 15 days and deportation."

The school would not appeal against the decision, he added.

Not really, I just thought it was the 'done thing' to try and keep duplicated threads to a minimum.

Have you always noticed that during such demonstrations that there are always numerous placards being waived by the natives, which in perfect grammatical English have "Kill Her" or "Death to the Infidels", this despite the fact that 80% of the country are illiterate & done even speak English in any event !!

Reminds me of that Iraqui silo which had "Milk producer" hastily scribbled on a piece of cardboard & erected over the remains of a Defence post after it had been destroyed by a Cruise missile.

hehe I don't know what would be more annoying. Burning it, or Christening it.

WTF is it with their faux outrage about XYZ/take your pick every 2.37 weeks as well?

Still, I guess it keeps the manufacturers of US and UK flags in profit, given their penchant for burning them prior to going on a killing spree hehe

Sudan. Poor buggers. A classroom teddy bear turns into an international incident. They're now a laughstock. Sudan = Banana Republic. And they know it. This kind of thing just scuppers aid budgets. Their extremists have really done them a disservice.

No Brit is going to vote for any party that says it will provide aid in the future. (At least until the great unwashed have forgotten).

If they harm a hair on her head the political fallout here will reverberate around the world. And with deadly force IMO. They probably also know this. So I reckon she's safe enough. What they mean by deportation is "getting her to safety and out of our hands as fast as possible". The fifteen days in custody is a token gesture to try and placate the nutters. Who are not placated. And now we know about them. That's not good for Sudan. They probably know that too.

I feel very sorry for the Sudanese politicians. Utterly scuppered.

I'll buy it name it Jacob Mohammed, Christen it, stone it, burn it and then send it out on some burning logs on the Ganges whilst smashing all the plates from the ceremony on the floor.
Make sure you are really inclusive and get another teddy to unobtrusively sneak up to it and explode

You'd think, what with famine etc, that they'd have more important things to worry about.

Such trivialities wont come between a nutter and his imaginary friend, ever.

Remember the case of the woman in Africa that was sentenced to being buried up to her neck and stoned to death because she was unfaithful?

It utterly amazes me that there can be so many backwards people in one place at the same time.

And even worse they dont appreciate the wonders of a fry up.

Savages.
