Why do beards itch?
Discussion
The OH grows a beard every year in the "Grand Beard Cultivating Contest" with his housemate which starts at the end of September and ends on Christmas Day with them both looking like Al Queda members.
OH complains of itchy beard syndrome during these contests but swears by fully washing the beard with shampoo and conditioner and it makes it much softer and more "lady friendly" too.

I've had a beard for a long while now but usually shave it off once in a while (its due a shave soon). Beards are cool to a certain length. I usually let it get to about two centimetres before i shave it. I moisturise every week so the itching isn't all that bad, usually lasts me a couple of days. But being asain and muslim, i can't grow it too long in the fear of piss takes and/or random rugby tackles.

However it's getting really itchy now and I'm wondering if it's just a stage or whether it will pass at one point and just feel normal? I should go and see a doctor. My Dad has had a beard crabs for about 30 years and it obviously doesn't seem to bother him.

I'm tired, having spent a rather cold hour on the hard shoulder of the M4 when the Rangie's alternator decided to die, and hence possibly confused - but your OH has a "housemate", and they have beard growing competitions?OH complains of itchy beard syndrome during these contests but swears by fully washing the beard with shampoo and conditioner and it makes it much softer and more "lady friendly" too.
