So I assume it was an 01942 number? Why not just call the mobile tomorrow and ask them?
Yes it is. I have tried calling both numbers today and had no answer yet. I will keep trying thoug as i need to know whether i should be getting the cops involved..atleast that is what i will tell the person who finally answers...

I had an Irish boy ring my mobile at 3am when I was selling my bike on PH, asked if it needed stabilisers when it got past 120mph. Idiot thought it was funny, never blocked his number before he phoned !
Next day mobile number was given to all the boys down the pub, told them that number had fastest taxi's, cheapest tarts and the best kebabs in the area.
Also left it on the BB forum.

Never heard from him again.

I just got an abusive answer machine message from a landline in the Wigan area from someone who knows my name.

Five minutes later i got an accidental call from the guys mobile, which he hung up when he realised hehe
How do you know it's the same person? As suggested check you do/don't have number stored in your phones, dial it with the 141 in front, should still recognise their name if stored I think?

What a 'grade A' tool! - rofl at him accidently calling you from his own mobile afterwards.

I know we have recently had posts about irony... but this is a prime example of it right?

Abusive call at midnight from a northern geezer, five minutes later a call from a mobile with a northern geezer's voice in the background, 2+2=4 smile

BTW, why is everyone telling me to hide my number? They already have my number...

write the number in some service station or similar toilets, right at the back where all the willy watchers seem to head towards

plenty of services on the net needing a mobile phone for validation smile

I had this whilst staying at my mums. Someone phoned their house at 3 am whilst it was only me up. I answer, lots of teenage sounding people make stupid voices and swear alot, i stay silent wait for them to put phone down. Stupidly they didn't block their number so 1471 provided that. Next day at around 5 pm I gave it a ring from my old pay as you go. Conversation went like this: me "Hi is that John I'm speaking to?" them "nah mate, think uve got the wrong numbar" me " ah sorry who's this then?" "chris" me: "CHris Who" "chris H******" At which point I hung up. Turned out it was an ex mate of my step brothers who I believe was shortly on the end of a good kicking.

Might be worth trying the same approach some people are stupid enough to give their name to strangers! Then you have their name and number which will get your an address!

The landline is 01942 256129. I am getting no answer and i still suspect it is a payphone.

I am going to keep the mobile number for now but i have left a message asking if i need to take this any further..

ETA: I won't ask how, but can you find out where the payphone is?

My parents are 01942 8. 01942 2 seems to be Hindley Green or Skelmesdale. Know anyone round there?

because if you keep calling then and they see it's you it will only encourage them to do it more.
My number is being changed in 3 days just to be sure.

I don't know anyone from lancashire, I suspect the voice i should be concentrating on is the southerner, but i don't think i know him either so it must be a 'freind of a freind'.
