Phone a local vet or RSPCA and take it there, they will scan it (and ck if it has a microchip or not) and take a description of it, they will also keep it for several days in the hope an owner will come forward. This is your best option.

I have to ask, why on earth did you think it was ok to throw a few small stones at a cat? Why didn't you just walk upto it and see if it moved!

Ignore the idiots on this thread and do the decent thing as described above.
yes It's typically all very amusing for the cat haters - but it's probably a child's much loved pet.

Forgot about the chip.
I meant to say in my previous post, putting a well worded card up in a shop is a good idea, mentioning where the cat has been taken.

Being serious, i'd probably pick the poor thing up and put it in a decent carrier bag, then go door knocking locally, to see if it's anyones. Failing that, drop it at a vets.

You need to make up a sign.

A bit like this one, maybe.

My cat went awol for five days and thankfully turned up yesterday safe and sound, i can tell you i was beside myself with worry, so do the decent thing and inform your local vets or council as they keep a missing pets register.

the rest of you comedians can suck my balls - clearly, nasty, self centred, uncaring individuals!

Only trouble with that is that when you do find the owner they could blame you for killing their much loved feline. Some people are like that.

I love the cat lovers assertion that if you dont live and breath cats, youre clearly the antichrist and suicide bomber and most likely a kiddy fiddler aswell

If you're feeling kindly towards the owners, put it on the 'found' section at mymoggy.com - and do the vet/microchip scan thing too.

and then stop worrying about it.. its only a cat. It's dead. Unless you know who's it is I cant see it being your responsibility to trapse the neighbourhood till you find who owns it.

or.. Stick its head on a spike jsut outside your drive as a warning to other cats that might try and die on your property.

Solemn, profound, and true, but this thread is about a dead cat on somebody's drive.
