This is the best thread that has been on here for ages - absolutely superb memory joggers.

Did anyone use these at the start of the 80's (Choose your own adventure books?). Apparently they are still going!

Spectrum 48k games also really got me smiling - Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Skool Daze - I can still remember the theme music I played them so much! Was it just me that spent hours typing in "Pokes"/program codes for infinite lives etc??

DID ANYONE HAVE A MARDAVE STOCK CAR ?

it was like the westfield of the RC world
much harder to build than a Tamiya but very popular
i spent all Xmas building mind then new years drove it under a passing car and the Futaba Ripmax receiver was split in two !

My mate had a Mardave Marauder, petrol beast - he reckoned it was vastly superior to my Tamiya (and was probably right!).

I'm not admitting anything!

Was in newsagents just the other day and saw 'White Dwarf' (Fairly sure I never bought it myself though!) but may have known others that did...

The space hopper is probably THE most useless toy ever and I suspect most were discarded and left outside by lunchtime on Xmas day
nono I loved mine, and I know that my Dad still has it stored in the garage 'cause I found it last weekend - he 'said' it was for the grand children he's not getting hehe

But I DID have one of these:

Me too, they were ace. I also had a remote control crane that picked stuff up, moved it round, then put it down again. Hours of fun.

Had a grifter too... heaviest bike in the universe!!!
And then some. Rumour has it the Grifter was made in the Irn Bru factory. From girders.

I had a blue Grifter, but always wanted a Chopper, although the innuendo of asking one of the other kids on the street if I could "have a ride on your Chopper" escaped me at such an innocent age.

Does anyone remember Computer Car? You had a slot in the back which you slid in the "program card" (oooo err missus.i digress) anyway you cut certain parts of the card out and the car would stop go forwards backwards left right etc whilst feeding the card through the car, took 2 "c" cells cant sem to find anything on the net anywhere about them.IIRC it was sort of based on a Porsche looking design.
