I remember reading this when you first started posting about it, good work, it deserves it's own thread, very moving!

I've just sat stock still for 15 minutes and read those when I should be working. I'm not sure if a 'thankyou for sharing' is what needs to be said. It just doesn't seem adequate in some way, if you see my meaning.

How about sticking it on a wiki or whatever you call it to keep all the content together and in order?

yes it is indeed true.
It is really setting a vivid scene for me. Could be my half hr lunch break occupied for a while.

"Thank the lord for snooker, the championship at the crucible has begun. Like watching Golf, snooker can remove vast chunks of time without you realising it, like a kind of baize time machine"

hehe

Quality writing Mr 10p!

A tragic accident, for which you have both paid a high price.

OI, I've got work to do, and its on a fixed price contract!

Any chance you could write something that isn't interesting until this evening? biggrin

Quality writing, looking forwards to reading the rest of it, but not until I've got a bit more work done.

Ditto
I was a Prison Officer for 12 years, finished 10 years ago but it all just came flooding back, the smells, the noises, the routine, the clanging of the gates etc. Never experienced anything like you (OP) did obviously but I can sympathise to a certain extent. Very well written if I may say so. Makes you realise how easy it could happen.
Anyone want to buy a Griff!!

+1

I missed the prison thread the first time it came round but read it through when it came up toward the end of last year. It's slowed me down no end and always pops into my head when I find myself driving a little too enthusiastically.

Good on for sharing this Mate. You(and the other gentleman involved in the accident) have been/are going through a great deal. It's human-nature to make mistakes and regrettably this was a really bad one for all concerned. I'm hoping that sharing this will be cathartic for you.

Also really looking forward to reading your diary entries further.

Just shows that despite all the hang'em and flog'em that goes on on here, the truth is that determining what's a "just" punishment isn't easy.
