There'll be the usual calls to "ban everything".

That is amazing! Cheers for posting that OP!
An amazing clip, such a shame to read this though link. frown
I don't know anything about this sport, but clearly these guys are insane - in the nicest possible way. A huge tragedy that this chap lost his life following the sport. Reading the link you'd have thought he would have deployed his 'chute rather than continuing to try to remove his skis.

But what do I know, I'm just some overweight guy behind a computer screen watching their exploits with sweaty palms.

RIP

That was amazing, thank you for posting that.

Very sad to hear about Shane McConkey. I loved his section in Claim...

As it says in the comments, the beginning of the section which isn't shown has him saying "I'm Shane McConkey, dammit, and I'm NOT done yet."

NICE!

We all need heroes and Shane was one of mine. An awesome talent who never took himself too seriously.

BASE jumping is horribly intolerant of errors. I recall a previous interview where he was talking about a wall hit. I'm saddened but not surprised.

What's perhaps most difficult to deal with is that despite having big name sponsors such as K2 and Red Bull, Shane's profession made it impossible to obtain life insurance.

Best wishes to Sherry and Ayla.

Shane uses older Tyrolia bindings that, unlike most modern units, release when the tail pieces are pulled up. That way they can be triggered easily in the air.

Takes a bit to get going but it must be a rush doing that.

Downhill skateboarding.
That's cool. Was posted a while back on here but linked to another video site that streamed it in HD that looked a lot better than the so called HD version on Youtube. Anyone remember?
