I remember a Chinese restaurant in Stuttgart called 'Ping Pong'. And there's an Indian between Didsbury and Rusholme called 'Dildar' (say it quickly in an Indian accent and you can see why phoning them up for orders will have you in stitches).

I heard of some Christian bookshop in Birmingham that someone was telling me a funny story about called 'New Directions' (again, say it quickly in a Brummie accent).

But the icing on the cake has to be Labour's Alan Milburn, who used to work in a Marxist bookshop in Newcastle called The Days Of Hope, known locally as The Haze Of Dope.

Used to be a shop in Guildford High Street called Knobs & Knockers it sold door handles & stuff.
There is a shop in town (Jackson Street, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand) called “Knockers and knobs” and as you have no doubt already guessed they sell door handles etc.

Coincident?

Whilst we were at Uni one of my friends worked there! The oh so original punters took great joy in ordering "a pint of Fawcett Inn Cider"

Seen only last week in San Fran (had Puggit & I giggling like Beavis & Butthead, I blame the jet lag)
