ADAC equivilent for France?

We're coming to France for our holidays again this year and I'm just looking at breakdown cover.

In the past I've been an ADAC member and found it a good reasonably priced service for European cover, but this year ADAC are telling me that they've reduced the service for non-german residents. (damn all those ring trippers )

So, is there a similar French service that you can join from the UK? I just object to being expected to pay £100 for a weeks cover from the AA/RAC.

I recently renewed my ADAC cover, so not sure why they are saying they have stopped the service.

Sorry - When I say cut - I mean reduced the level of service. Looks like if you aren't based in germany thn you are not eligible for a lot of the benefits.

I need to go through the email they've sent me and work out exactly what has changed. Possibly repatriation has gone?

not a customer of either, so can't comment on their services or prices, just found them by googling "assistance automobile" on google.fr, they're well known names though.

Really? I am an ADAC member since 2004 and live in the UK for several years. They know about it, send me the monthly magazine to England and all my bills I receive in the post from them. I just renewed my membership with them.

I got the international cover for the entire family and for the price I am paying also got a lot of other insurances through them e.g. travel insurance.

ADAC member also. Renewed in November. No changes as far as I can see.
