TBH I live in a bubble.I don't follow the French news on purpose and really couldn't care.I don't have a vote so can't change the political landscape so carry on in blissful ignorance enjoying the simple things like my veg plot,my horses,chopping wood,generally pottering about doing as I please with no particular timescale.

So does that mean you're retired to be spending your time like.that? We have a home about 30 minutes from Le Mans. My parents live there 10 months of the year but with my dad passing last year its to much for my mum to manage on her own. We are potentially looking to sell it next year but as its a older property we had a few estate agents out to see it.
Because its no double glazing or central heating (well central heating needs fixing but we've never done it as we just use the log fire) they didn't seem interested at all and quoted silly figures.
We know the markets dropped but as previously mentioned it does seem that unless its a modern box most people don't really want older properties sadly.
I will be back out next year now to do some work on making it look a lot prettier then we will re asses the situation, Strangely Le Man weekend will be the start of my trip ( I wonder why my dad bought it )

I can relate to this. I could never imagine being able to afford enough land to keep our horses in the UK. Even here it means >40 Km out of town. But there is something you cannot put a price on when you open the shutters in the morning and see the horses in the field around the house.Kev_Mk3 said:

Not at all -its in a town called Savigné-sous-le-Lude. Its a 3 bed property at the moment but if you converted the basement (has a drive way down to it) you could have more bedrooms.
