Anyone know where there's an honest mechanic around the Eastern Suburbs? I'm based in Kings Cross.

Thanks!

I can ask at work on monday (I'm in Melb., but we deal with a lot of workshops).

Are you looking for anything special, or just a good workshop? Or a mechanic?

I'm just looking for someone to look at something as I've tried myself on the kerb and can't get a good enough look. Thanks for your help though!

I'd advise against Cremorne Prestige at all costs if you look further north.

Foxman Auto Services in Randwick are good, on Avoca Street.

Depends on what it's for....

For anything old and garden-variety european, Greg Strange on Cleveland St has a good rep, although I'm not a customer. Em's - located inside the north ramp of the Harbour Bridge - used to do a decent job on more expensive nineties and naughties stuff.

For white goods motoring, better to find somebody cheap down in Maroubra or out west. I use a bloke near Liverpool. Take the car out to him first thing in the morning (going against the traffic), get the train in to work and collect on the following Saturday morning. You'll struggle to find anybody good and reasonably priced near you - all the garages have been turned into flats!

EDIT: Just noticed it's for a Magna Wagon. Take it somewhere cheap out west!

Thanks guys! Took it to Foxman, Geoff's a decent bloke and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them but I managed to find somewhere in Ingleburn that was way cheaper.

Care to name them, my daughter works near there and is looking for someone reputable.
