There are always ongoing conversations on PH about DPFs here in the UK, at the moment more than ever.

Someone (in real World) mentioned to me the other day that they make roadside checks for their existence or if ghey are working in Germany and if your car fails it gets crushed.
Can anyone confirm or deny this to be the case?

Thanks.

Even so the German state finds more and more ways of bullying the car drivers, this story is obviously a joke. No one crushes your car when the DPF is missing. I've never seen any roadside-check for DPFs in Germany. Some of the TÜV testers seem to check if the DPF is in place before your car passes the TÜV test. I never saw that myself so. On the otherhand it is tax-fraud when you delete your DPF so as the state goes more and more bankrupt every day maybe one day soon they will create some roadblocks to check if they can steal some more money from the citizens biggrin
