Just ordered one for my bike off the Crit'Air website.

4.80 euros.

Quite simple now that it's up and running.

It's important to understand that currently at least these only apply to defined inner city areas and then between specified hours, if you are simply driving by on a ring road or bypass you do not need any stickers at all.

Ha, how typically French, hit the link for the Ministry website at https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/en/ and what do you get - page non trouvée erreur 404 !

Has anyone considered that by registering for one of these you are potentially providing the authorities with your identity and where to find you should you inadvertently set off a radar controlled camera or other device in the course of your travels.........

I don't get it, surely no upstanding British visitor to France would ever do such a thing and if they did they would do the moral and honourable thing and fess up and pay up, are you saying that's not so

in any case fines are not being applied until March at the earliest and possibly summer.
It's not a particularly well thought out thing as it relies on police stopping and fining you rather than scanning cars.

As said above you would only need one if you intend taking your car into Paris on a weekday between 8am to 8pm (I think), which might be a bad move anyway. The scheme also applies to Lyon and Grenoble, and could possibly be deployed to other cities in the future. In two minds whether to apply for one as we are not too far from Paris and do go there very occasionally, though usually at weekends. An interesting side issue is that if you have a classic car you will not be able to get a certificate as these are excluded from the scheme by their age.

Carte Grise de Collection vehicles are exempt so whilst you're right that you won't get a sticker it's because they don't need one

How do you go about getting a Catre Grise de Collection? My 1991 Alfa Spider is on a normal Carte Gris.

Note for Paris at least if an emergency is declared (exceptional pollution conditions) then the zone is extended to the grand peripherique which essentially is the A86.
