Hi,

Its the 2.8 V6 Turbo. Quite a nice engine by all accounts - its very smooth and sounds nice through the Hirsch exhaust. thumbup

Cheers

Here's mine. I couldn't beleive how comfy it was at first, now it just makes every motorway trip a breeze! Decent MPG too!

Great colour! If I'd been able to find an Aero in that colour it might have have persuaded me to get a 9-5. As it is I've just bought another 9000 instead, a silver Aero. After over two years in an old Mercedes W126 it is quite a change, but as it's my fifth 9000 I felt immediately at home again!

Thanks - this and Cappuccino Black are about the best 9-5 colours I think.

Is it manual or auto? Let me know if you're ever selling!

I would do, but it's filthy already!

This was the Ebay advert.

I mis-spoke myself - it's Espresso Black, not Cappuccino. I need a coffee!

Very tidy - do you mind saying what you paid for it?

Looks like the twin of my CSE (but probably with all synchromesh intact and no rust wink )

Have to say, I am classic Saab guy (c900, 99, 9000) but I do like the look of some of the 9-5s and 9-3sses above. I have an itch for an e39 to replace the 9000 but a cheap 9-5 Aero could hit the spot as a daily...

Will be interested how you feel going from 9-5 to 9-3SS - I went from a 2000MY 9-5 Aero to a 2004 9-3SS Aero and was mildly disappointed, was happy to get back into a 2002 9-5 Aero estate: quicker, comfier, and to my mind, sweeter balance.

Don't get me wrong - I really liked my 9-5 Aero, it had great space, comfort, good performance, a nice look to it and thankfully reminded me of the 9000's i had owned years previously.

The 9-3 Convertible nearly put me off the brand for life, as it was such an abobination to drive - But the 9-5 reminded me what a good car SAAB can make.

However i realy like the 9-3SS. Engine feels just right for it, where i found that a car as big as the 9-5 really deserved more than a 4 cylinder engine.

I also dont need such a large car as this is a 3rd car, so the size is perfect for me, and i like the feel of the interior more than that of the 9-5.

I do have a real soft spot though for early 9-5 Aero estate's, when they are in silver with the 3-spoke wheels.

Missed my old Talladega NG900 (which has since been binned) so i got this one cheap on teh bay...

Need to get shot of that rear spoiler for a start hehe

Got a set of original Talladega BBS alloys for it and will be putting the car back to original, few little things to sort but all fairly simple.

I'd be slightly worried about what someone who thought the spoiler (never more aptly named) and those wheels looked good had buugered up on the rest of the car but apart from them it looks good.

Granted the spoiler is not pretty but on the whole the car is pretty genuine and mechanically fit as a fiddle, it has been remapped by Hirsch many years ago and the full stainless exhaust and that thing on the boot are Abbott racing, so again not cheap chav tat, even though it looks it hehe .
It has fallen wrath of the pipercross cone filter and vent to atmosphere dump valve, but these will be going as i put the car back to standard. Lots of history and receipts, and a genuine 88k

so some work to do but worth the effort smile

i know the NG900 is not everyone's cup of tea, but i like them, it may have GM parts but it is still built like a brick outhouse!

it also felt a damn sight more sure footed than the 9-3vert i drove the previous weekend.
